Wyatt listened to Stephenโs self-righteous speech and scoffed inwardly, โHe has the nerve to say that after how he treated Abby? Unbelievable!โ
Christian didnโt say anything more. In his mind, the company was already a shadow of what it used to be. With the mountain of debt hanging over them, it would take at least a year or two just to crawl out of the hole.
Even if Abigail ended up with more shares, it would just be a way of repaying what they owed her in the first place.
Seeing how lost Daniella looked, Bianca just couldnโt stay cold-hearted and said, โMr. Wyatt Gibson, I know Dani has done some things that were hard to forgive, but she has been part of our family for so many years.
โIf she is left with nothing, how is she supposed to live with that?โ
Bianca thought, โNo matter what she did, sheโs still the daughter we brought up.โ
Wyatt replied flatly, โThen sheโll just have to live with it.โ
After finishing the discussion, he stood up and fixed his cloudy eyes on Bianca. He slowly said, โIf any of you give her a cut, Iโll take your shares back myself and call off the deal with Warren.
โSort the remaining shares among yourselves and send someone to tell me what youโve decided. Then, Iโll talk to Warren.โ
Once Wyatt had gone upstairs, Stephen was the first to speak. โIโm taking 10%. I spent a few days in holding for Dad. That should earn me something. You three can split the other 25%.โ With that, he walked away too.
Gabriel turned to Christian. โChris, youโve done some outrageous stuff these past two years. So, you only get 5%. Your mom raised you poorly, so she gets 5% too.โ
After making his announcement, Gabriel looked toward Daniella, who was practically trying to shrink into the wallpaper.
His expression twisted in disgust as he turned to Bianca and added, โLater, I want you, me, Abigail, and Daniella to redo the DNA test at the hospital. I need to know whether the original results were real or if someone tampered with them.โ
Stephenโs comment just now was exactly the wake-up call Gabriel needed.
Gabriel thought, โIf Daniella was already pretending to be depressed when she was younger, and then picked the exact moment Abigail turned eighteen and was about to leave for college to get into that fatal accidentโฆ That says a lot, doesnโt it?
โThatโs basically her using her so-called depression, along with all the affection we gave her, to ruin Abigailโs future. If she could pull all that off, thereโs a real chance she messed with the DNA test too.
โEven if Daniella was a big spender, thereโs just no way she could burn through six million dollars a month. That money had to be going somewhere else.โ
Daniella nearly passed out when she heard Gabrielโs words.
Christian instinctively frowned, โDad, why are we starting this all over aga-โ
Gabriel cut him off sharply, โThis isnโt your place to speak. You need to take a long, hard look at yourself.โ Then, he turned to Bianca. โYou, upstairs now.โ
Bianca flinched but got up immediately and followed him to the second floor.
The moment they entered the room, Gabriel sat down in a nearby chair, his expression grim. He said, โFrom now on, weโre going to have to rely on Abby.
โIf she ends up marrying Sebastian, that would be a huge win for our family. So right now, what we need to do is show her where we stand.โ
Biancaโs voice was barely audible as she asked, โWhat do you mean?โ
Gabriel looked her way and said coldly, โEverything Abby went through back then, Dani is going to pay it back with interest.
โAnd I donโt care what the DNA test says. Even if Dani is our biological daughter, sheโs still going to pay for what she did to Abby. When the time is right, weโll have her locked up.โ
Bianca collapsed to the floor, stunned. โPlease donโt do this. Abby already took the fall for three years. Canโt we just leave it at that?โ
Gabriel retorted, โLeave it at that? Does Abby look like sheโs over it? Dani has to go down for Abby to even consider forgiving us.
โIf Dani really is our own daughter, then we owe it to her to set things right. Letโs not forget, Dani fooled all of us.โ
He hadnโt disliked Abigail at first. To him, having another daughter just meant one more person at the dinner table, nothing more. But Daniella had gotten in the way.
Looking back now, Gabriel realized that every time Abigail was around Daniella, Daniella would end up in tears, making it seem like Abigail had bullied her. Sometimes, Daniella even threw herself to the ground.
They had spoiled Daniella back then and never thought too deeply about it, but now he saw clearly that it had all been part of her plan.
Daniella had done it to make the Gibson family resent Abigail, to drive her out of Gibson Villa, and to erase her completely from their lives. That way, Daniella could secure her place as the Gibson familyโs one and only heiress.
Thinking about all this, Gabriel couldnโt help but feel Daniella was downright despicable.
Tears rimmed Biancaโs eyes as she stared at him. She had done whatever he asked all these years, but Daniella was still the daughter she had raised by her side for so long.
Trembling all over, Bianca said, โYou always find ways to justify your own choices. But do you really think Dani turned out this way all on her own?
โYou were the one who insisted on bringing Abby back, just to gain another powerful connection for this familyโs future. If you hadnโt done that-โ
Before Bianca could even get another word out, Gabrielโs hand flew and smacked her hard across the face.
