Chapter 192

Christian didnโ€™t understand how these people could lie with such coordinated silence.

Gabriel glanced coldly at Daniella after hearing what the maids said. Daniella shuddered and quickly tried to explain, โ€œI didnโ€™t, I didnโ€™t do anythingโ€”theyโ€™re lying.โ€

A maid said, โ€œThe one who lies the most is obviously you. Ever since Ms. Abigail Gibson came back, youโ€™ve been picking fights on purpose, then acting like she hurt you the moment your parents and brothers showed up, and crying like a victim.โ€

โ€œYeah. The last time she framed Ms. Abigail Gibson was three years agoโ€”I even accidentally caught it on video.โ€

Daniella never thought the maids would remember everything she had done. In her mind, these maids were just walking objects. No matter how badly she behaved, she believed theyโ€™d forget it right away. She thought thatโ€™s just how a rich girl should live.

โ€œWhy are you so mean to me? I didnโ€™t do anything this morning,โ€ Daniella screamed.

She couldnโ€™t understand why they were still accusing her after she had already tolerated so much of their bullying.

โ€œIf you didnโ€™t do anything, then why would Mr. Christian Gibson slap me?โ€ Cathy snapped. โ€œThatโ€™s her old trick. She acts so innocent, and her two brothers still blamed and yelled at Ms. Abigail Gibson.โ€

The maidsโ€™ words triggered a flood of memories in Daniella. She remembered when Abigail had just come backโ€”how she tripped her on purpose and made her fall into the pond.

She had pretended to help Abigail, but then deliberately let her go again, and kept pressing her into the freezing water. Abigail almost froze to death before the maids pulled her out.

Abigail had clearly caught a cold. Daniella, to apologize, brought her a bowl of chicken soup. Seeing Abigailโ€™s tiny and shabby room had made Daniella realize that the Gibson family never cared about her at all.

So she loosened her grip on the bowl on purpose as she handed it over. She let it scald her a little, but Abigailโ€™s hands and arms were covered in blisters.

Then Daniella cried and accused Abigail of knocking the bowl over. Stephen and Christian had stormed in, grabbed Abigail by her blistered hand, dragged her out of bed, and slapped her.

Ever since then, Daniella kept repeating the same petty tricks, making Abigailโ€™s life in the Gibson family feel like hell.

At the time, all the maids had testified that Daniella had done nothing wrong. The more they protected her, the more openly she bullied Abigailโ€”even Bianca, whoโ€™d once treated Abigail with a bit of kindness, started to grow sick of her.

Back then, every time Daniella cried, the whole Gibson family would automatically blame Abigail, even when she was at school.

Now that Daniella was recalling all of this, she felt a chill run down her spine because she was finally experiencing what Abigail had gone through.

She snapped back to the present, and when she saw the disappointment in Biancaโ€™s eyes and the disgust in Gabrielโ€™s, she started to cry. โ€œI didnโ€™t do those things! Mom, Dad, that maid is lyingโ€”โ€

โ€œEnough. Not a single word she says is believable anymore. Youโ€™ve clearly lost your mind. You know she lies all the time, and youโ€™re still defending her? Iโ€™m done listening to you,โ€ Gabriel interrupted Christian impatiently.

Christian grew more desperate. He lunged forward and grabbed Cathy, shouting, โ€œYouโ€™d better explain yourself. I hit you because you were bullying her in the maidsโ€™ room!โ€

The maids said, โ€œWe didnโ€™t bully her at all. Mr. Christian Gibson, if youโ€™re gonna slander us just to protect her, then we really canโ€™t keep working here.โ€

โ€œExactly. We get up early every day to cleanโ€”what, now thatโ€™s wrong too? At this rate, are you just gonna yell at and hit the help whenever you feel like it?โ€

โ€œDaniella, can you stop causing trouble for once?โ€ Gabriel said through gritted teeth.

Christian shoved aside the maid who had falsely accused him.

Bianca turned to Cathy and said, โ€œWeโ€™ll pay you six thousand dollars in compensation. Letโ€™s just call it even, alright? Everyone else, get back to work. Weโ€™ll move Daniella to another room, and from now on, you donโ€™t need to clean her room.โ€
