Chapter 207

Gabriel was the first to snap out of it. He lunged forward, yanking Daniella up by her collar. โ€œWhat the hell are you doing?โ€ he roared.

Gone was Daniellaโ€™s usual meekness. She shoved Gabriel away, shouting, โ€œWhat am I doing? Didnโ€™t you see her insulting me?โ€

Staggering back, Gabriel froze and pointed at her nose. โ€œYou beat her half to death and claim sheโ€™s the bully? Daniella, I bet this is about Sebastian bringing Abigail home. Youโ€™re so jealous youโ€™re biting everyone like a rabid dog!โ€

โ€œRabid dog? She humiliated me andโ€ฆโ€

โ€œDonโ€™t you deserve it?โ€ Gabriel cut her off. โ€œWho do you think you are? Canโ€™t a maid speak her mind without โ€˜humiliatingโ€™ you?โ€

โ€œYou heard what she said? Youโ€™d defend a maid over your own daughter? Now that Iโ€™m useless, you all hate me and want to toss me aside, donโ€™t you? If I canโ€™t be happy, none of you willโ€ฆโ€

Before she could finish, Gabriel slapped her across the face.

The slap stung, leaving Daniella dazed. Then she laughed, a humorless chuckle.

Christian tried to help, but Stephen and Bianca held him back.

The maid was bleeding profusely. Daniella had really laid into her.

If the maid dies, weโ€™ll have to pay her family for her life. We barely have money as it is. Why is she losing it now? the family thought.

Seeing no one on her side, Daniella laughed bitterly, tears streaming down her face. โ€œYeah, I lie, kill, and do every evil thing. You all hate me and wish I were dead!โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s the truth, so quit playing the victim,โ€ Gabriel snapped, eyeing the maid on the floor. โ€œArenโ€™t you going to get her medical help?โ€

They couldnโ€™t afford to lose another maid. Before Daniella ended up in prison, they had to keep these bold maids satisfied.

Theyโ€™d witnessed all her misdeeds. If any of them reported the assault to the cops, the whole Gibson family would go down with her.

Bianca hurried over to help the maid up. โ€œLetโ€™s get you to the hospital. Weโ€™ll cover the costs. How about we send someone else to bring her meals from now on?โ€

The maid nodded, feigning innocence. โ€œOkay.โ€

Daniella wanted to slap her silly at that phony act.

She seethed inwardly. Bitch! She provoked me on purpose to turn the Gibson family against me!

Not that it matters anymore. Things couldnโ€™t get worse!

After the maid left, Gabriel grabbed Daniella by the hair, his eyes blazing with threat. โ€œTry causing trouble again and Iโ€™ll break your legs so you spend life in a wheelchair.โ€

โ€œWho the hell owes you anything? We blew a fortune on you, and look what you turned intoโ€”bad luck incarnate!โ€

He shoved her hard, sending her sprawling to the floor.

โ€œWe were cursed to mistake trash like you for a treasure. Karma for being blind.โ€ Gabriel snarled, spinning on his heel.

If that money had gone to Abigail instead, look at her now, tight with Sebastian and grateful for our upbringing, the payoffs wouldโ€™ve been huge. We didnโ€™t get the payoffs all because of that bitch Daniella, he thought.

Gabriel recalled when Abigail first came back. Heโ€™d planned to nurture his biological daughter until Daniella, still a kid, faked DNA reports to smear her.

Theyโ€™d despised Abigail, starved her of love, and even sent her to prison for three years over this slut.

Regret? It wasnโ€™t just gnawing at him. It was ripping him apart.

What was worse, he, a grown man, had been duped by a minor for nearly a decade.

Seeing Christian linger, Stephen told Daniella flatly, โ€œFix this shit yourself.โ€
