Revenge Forged in Prison

Chapter 126: Choke With Silent Fury

In the underground parking garage, the door gradually lifted, revealing a few luxury cars. The young assistant couldn’t help but feel a sense of envy when he saw them. Any random car there was worth over a million. "If only I could own one of these…" he mused. Shaking his head to clear away his distracting thoughts, he began to earnestly check the license plates of these cars.

Unexpectedly, the search process went incredibly smoothly. By the time he got to the third car, he exclaimed with joy, “Found it!”

Walden politely asked, “Mr. Quixall, may we inspect your vehicle?”

George forced a smile. “Please, go ahead.”

And so, Walden called over his junior assistant. Together, they meticulously inspected the vehicle, ensuring not a single spot was overlooked.

“Mr. Quixall, there are signs of a scrape on your car. Do you have any idea about this?”

Although Walden had a smile on his face, his demeanor had abruptly become quite somber, which was enough to unsettle anyone.

George was visibly sweating. “Mr. Tucker, this car is mine, but I wasn’t the one driving! I lost my car keys this morning, and I even scolded Agnes over it. If you don’t believe me, you can call her over and ask.”

Deborah quickly followed up with an explanation. “I know my husband well. He has always adored Caleb. How could he possibly have hit him with his car?”

Walden signaled them to calm down. “I never said that Mr. Quixall is a suspect. You two don’t have to panic. Can you tell me where the car key was placed yesterday? At what specific time did it go missing?”

George tried hard to recall. “Last night, I saw it on my desk. But this morning, as I was about to drive off, I realized it was gone.”

Walden pressed further. “At what specific time in the morning did this happen? And where were you planning to go?”

“Around seven in the morning, I had to drive to the office. Typically, at that hour, I would be heading to work. This isn’t something that can be vouched for by any employee of mine.”

The young assistant carefully noted down George’s words, intending to seek out an employee from Quixall Group for further investigation.

Walden asked, “Mr. Quixall, what were you and your family doing at the time of the incident?”

Walden couldn’t help but interrupt him, voicing his own doubts. “Mr. Quixall, considering that you were supposed to go to the office for work, why did you suddenly change your mind and choose to work from home instead?”

George expressed his desolation. “I had a heated argument with Yelena this morning. In my anger, I slapped her. After that incident, we didn’t talk to each other. Half an hour passed, and I was worried she might be upset, so I stayed at home to comfort her instead of going to the office.”

Walden looked at Yelena’s cheeks. Indeed, there was evidence of swelling on one side of her face. It appeared that George was not lying.

The case was not progressing, leaving him feeling somewhat disheartened.

“I’ve taken note of everything you’ve said. As for some details, I plan on asking your staff and housekeepers. You don’t mind, do you?”

“Not at all.”

George was seething with anger but dared not show it. He could only force a smile, trailing behind Walden as the latter continued his investigation.

What a pain! Had I known things would turn out this way, I would have been more discreet.
