Revenge Forged in Prison

Chapter 145: Accused of Being Ungrateful

Suppressing the rage within her, Wendy complained, “Xenia, say something!” Her best friend had always been supportive, but for some reason, she didn’t react at all when Wendy was bullied today. Ms. Levinson is engaged to Mr. Jesse. Now that she’s being bullied, why is Xenia staying silent?

Finally, Xenia Fields regained her senses and said, “Indeed, it’s not right to be ungrateful. Mr. Jenkins is just too cold.”

“Yes… That’s right.”

Strangely, Wendy felt a vague sense of indifference from her best friend’s attitude, which stirred a subtle annoyance within her. However, she didn’t let it show because, in that moment, her best friend still stood by her.

Aside from Zeke, everyone in the room was disparaging Caleb. Zeke recalled Chelsea’s instructions and took the initiative to step forward, intending to speak up for Caleb. However, someone suddenly stormed in from outside, seething with anger. “Who are you calling ungrateful?”

Upon glancing up, Caleb saw that it was Gianna. That’s strange. Isn’t Ms. Sherman grounded by her father? How did she manage to come here? Wendy knew Gianna and her identity as the daughter of the Sherman family. However, her idol was right behind her, and under no circumstances could she afford to lose to Gianna.

And so, she spoke out defiantly. “He’s nothing but ungrateful! After being saved, he accused his savior of lying instead of showing gratitude. If that’s not being ungrateful, then what is?”

Gianna paused, glancing at Raquel, who was sitting on the ground. When she saw the guilty look on the latter’s face, everything became clear. What a joke! She remembered vividly the words Raquel spoke at the Quixall residence: “Let him die. Jesse is still waiting for his heart for the surgery. He has no choice but to meet his end.”

After uttering such heartless words that day, she wants to take all the credit for saving Caleb today. I can’t believe the extent of Raquel’s shamelessness.

“Raquel, are you really certain you were the one who called the ambulance for Caleb and donated blood to him?”

This rhetorical question only served to further confuse those unaware of the truth.

With Jesse’s support, Raquel retorted confidently, “If not me, then who else? In the city of Plainstedt, how many people have the rare Rh-negative blood?”

Since Gianna didn’t have Rh-negative blood, and she was one of the rare ones in the city who did, she felt this was more than enough to refute Raquel’s words. Gianna was left speechless. Even at that moment, she was still shocked by the extent of Raquel’s shamelessness.

Due to Chelsea’s prior instructions, Gianna was unable to reveal the truth about the blood transfusion. All she could say was, “Just because it’s not available in Plainstedt doesn’t mean it’s not available in other cities. Raquel, you’re being too presumptuous.”

Raquel let out a snort. “See, you can’t refute my words. The situation was so dire back then, how could there have been enough time to search for blood donors from another city? Time was of the essence then. Without immediate medical attention, how could Caleb have possibly survived until now?”

Wendy kept nodding in agreement. That’s right. This makes total sense. Rh-negative blood is extremely rare. Since Ms. Levinson and the patient shared the same blood type, the likelihood that she is the one who had given the patient a blood transfusion has significantly increased. As expected, Ms. Sherman is lying. To cover for that violent man, she spun a web of lies in front of everyone. She’s such a disgrace!
