Revenge Forged in Prison
Chapter 211: Do Visit More Often
Phillip was reading a version of the events that had been privately shared among netizens. After hearing about the incident, he instructed his assistant to purchase the footage, which turned out to be money well spent. After watching the video, he felt a great sense of satisfaction, especially the part where Raquel was confronted. When that kissing photo surfaced before the eyes of the guests, the shocked expression on Raquel’s face was indeed a sight for sore eyes. If Gia had seen this video, she would have probably been quite pleased. Whenever he thought about his daughter, Phillip would subconsciously let out an affectionate smile. However, his eyes subtly held a hint of sadness.
Upon hearing Phillip’s words, Caleb had a sudden realization. “Mr. Sherman, there’s no need to thank me. Ms. Sherman pierced her hand while saving me, an act of kindness I’ll never forget.” He sincerely bowed his head, expressing his gratitude. Phillip pursed his lips, hesitated for a moment, but eventually revealed the truth. “Actually, the person who gave you the blood transfusion wasn’t Gia, nor was it Raquel. It was the prominent young lady from the Yardley family who saved you. Without a second thought, she rushed to the hospital to donate her blood. This act of hers was what truly saved your life.”
Phillip felt a sense of unease. In his opinion, Caleb was kind to Gianna only because he believed she had donated blood to him. Once he discovered the truth, his attitude would inevitably shift. Surprisingly, Caleb simply responded, “Oh… I’ve known that for quite some time actually.” Even if no one had told him, he had a vague inkling of what had happened. Both Gianna and Chelsea insisted that they were not the ones who saved him. That could only mean that they had both contributed to his rescue.
Taking into account that Gianna had sought assistance from Raquel but ended up being insulted by the latter, one could deduce that Gianna didn’t have Rh-negative blood. Furthermore, Raquel would never have donated blood to him. Hence, someone else must have done so. On top of that, Chelsea’s family wielded significant influence, and she had managed to transfer him to a hospital owned by the Yardley family. Her assistance definitely didn’t come out of the blue. One could boldly surmise that before she helped him transfer hospitals, the two of them had already met and even had a friendly conversation. The only reason Gianna would let her guard down around Chelsea was simple—the latter could help him.
As a result, the answer was self-evident. The person who donated blood to him was Chelsea with a sixty percent probability. Even if it wasn’t her, she would have been the one to call upon the person who did. Thus, when Caleb heard the truth from Phillip, he did not seem surprised at all. This was because he had already analyzed the matter beforehand.
Phillip exclaimed in surprise, “You actually knew? Then why did you still…” With a light chuckle, Caleb interrupted him, “Mr. Sherman, the reason I sought revenge for your daughter was not because she gave me her blood. Rather, it was because she, knowing full well the difficulties she would face, still pleaded on my behalf to Raquel. In the end, she even suffered the latter’s cruelty.” He curved his lips upward, revealing a friendly smile. “After I fainted, the first person to find me was Gianna, right? If it wasn’t for her kindness in saving me, I might very well have left this world.” This playful banter greatly touched Phillip. He narrowed his eyes, his tone cryptic. “Caleb, you really are…”
It was unclear what sort of dilemma he had, but in the end, all Caleb heard him say was, “Do visit more often. Gia wants to see you.”
