Chapter 213: Tell Him To Leave

For several days, Manny had visited the Quixall residence, insisting on taking Jesse for a paternity test with Harris. The Quixall family was intensely annoyed, but the Xiques family's influence prevented them from expressing their anger.

That day, Manny returned. George, increasingly agitated, beckoned Agnes. "Agnes, go. Tell him to leave."

Agnes offered a bitter smile. "Mr. Quixall, that's the Xiques family's butler. I wouldn't dare send him away."

George's eyes widened in disbelief. "You're utterly useless! If you can't even handle this, what's the point of keeping you around?"

Agnes, despite her outrage, stood aside, sulking. Deborah gently coaxed, "George, don't be upset. We don't dare intervene either. Let's ask Seiren; she's smart, knows her limits, and is the right person for this."

George's anger subsided slightly. He said coolly, "Let's send Seiren then. Agnes, you—" He fell silent. Seiren hadn't returned since the wedding, likely hiding out of fear of reprimand.

Anger surged in George. "Hmph, Seiren is equally useless! After causing trouble, she refuses to return and face punishment. Now that she's climbed the social ladder, she's forgotten our kindness! That little wretch, if I ever see her again, I'll reward her with ten slaps!"

Deborah, reminded of the situation, felt a heaviness in her heart, her mood dampened. "Seiren is usually so smart, how could she, at this crucial moment…"

George snorted disdainfully. "What else could it be? It must be Caleb's doing! That guy has caused enough trouble. He won't be satisfied until he tears our family apart!"

Deborah remained silent, not even attempting to defend Caleb. After the wedding, their family seldom mentioned Caleb; his name was taboo, provoking George's rage whenever mentioned. Over time, every member of the Quixall family developed a distaste for Caleb. This was also the case with Deborah. Had her husband not mentioned Caleb, she would have nearly forgotten her son's existence. Recalling that she once had such a son made her uneasy.

Jesse came downstairs, speaking softly. "Dad, why don't you let me go? I have no blood ties with Mr. Xiques. Even if I go, nothing will happen."

George immediately rejected the idea. "No way! Harris is so obsessed with you. Who knows if he'll tamper with the test results? Even if I were desperate, I would never resort to selling my own son!"

Jesse asked quizzically, "Dad, how can we drive him away?"

George paused, then said, "Give him a lock of your sister's hair. Once he realizes your sister shares no blood ties with him, he will naturally stop coming."

Deborah felt apprehensive, but couldn't think of a better solution. After a while, she sighed. "That's all we can do." She summoned Yelena downstairs, watching as Yelena pulled out a strand of her hair and cut it to match Jesse's length. Jesse then took the strand of hair and went to give it to Manny.

Manny looked at the transparent bag in Jesse's hand, puzzled. He asked, "What is this…"

Jesse said casually, "Mr. Ferlito, this is my hair. You can take it to Mr. Xiques for a DNA test."

Manny fell silent abruptly.
