Chapter 215: The Tide Turns
The bodyguard said in a detached tone, “Don’t worry about where we are; just focus on completing your task. The Yardley family wouldn’t assist you for nothing. This is the first task Madam Yardley has assigned you. If you fail to complete this, you’ll end up on the Yardley family’s blacklist. We will relentlessly hunt you down for the rest of your life, and death will be your only escape.”
Caleb quickly grasped the current situation. His expression held no panic or fear, only the clarity of understanding his situation.
“What’s the task? What should I do?”
“Your task is to teach the person inside a good lesson, and make him understand his place.”
Caleb simply nodded, choosing not to delve into the specifics of the matter. He steadily made his way into the factory, each step steady and confident.
Inside the factory, a man bound tightly was glaring with resentment. His mouth had been sealed with duct tape, leaving him unable to utter a single word. If he could speak, he would have surely scolded Caleb with every curse word in his vocabulary.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Caleb reached out and tore off the tape from the man’s mouth. Despite being freed, the man was far from grateful. Instead, he began to disparage Caleb.
“Damn you! Who the hell do you think you are? What’s your purpose in tying me up here? Let me tell you, I’ve got powerful people backing me up. Don’t even think about laying a finger on me!”
Caleb’s gaze was icy. “If you’re so great, how did you end up being tied here?”
The man fell silent for a moment, then cursed again, “Damn it! All I did was step outside, and your men dragged me here. If you know what’s good for you, you’d better let me go quickly. Otherwise, when my men come, they’ll wipe out your entire crew!”
Suddenly, a soft chuckle escaped from Caleb. The man expressed his displeasure. “What are you laughing at?”
Caleb’s laughter grew even louder. “Weren’t you filled with bravado back at the hospital? How did you end up so miserable just by stepping out for a while?”
The man was taken aback. He studied Caleb’s face meticulously. When he recognized him, his expression drastically changed.
“You’re Caleb!”
Caleb’s smile grew deeper. “Rob, remember me now?”
The events of that day still remained vivid in his memory. However, what he hadn’t expected was that the once arrogant figure he encountered that day had ended up in his grasp. Tables do turn, and God doesn’t spare the wicked. I am certainly going to punish those who hurt me with my own hands!
Without further ado, he delivered a powerful kick to Rob’s stomach, causing the latter to shudder. Rob cursed, “You bastard! If you’ve got the guts, let me go! Do you think you’re a big deal by beating up someone tied up?”
With a few more sharp kicks, Caleb chuckled. “I’m truly sorry, I really am not a big deal after all. What if I let you go and you run away?” If he were such a big deal, I wouldn’t have been ridiculed by the crowd that day. The opportunity for revenge is right before my eyes. If I don’t seize it now, I would continue to be at the mercy of others’ whims!
Following that, there was a period of torment. Rob had been beaten to a pulp, his face bruised and blood spilling from his mouth. Yet, he still glared at Caleb with his resentful eyes, clearly unwilling to admit defeat.
Caleb dusted his hands, looking back at Rob with disdain. “If you’re not satisfied, feel free to seek revenge on me anytime.”
Under the furious gaze of Rob, Caleb casually strolled out.
