Chapter 216: Driven Mad, Searching for Him

Upon reaching the factory entrance, Caleb saw the bodyguard in black waiting. Seeing Caleb emerge, he flicked away cigarette ash, exhaling a breath.

“Are you done?”

“Yes. I beat him up so badly that he won’t be leaving his bed for at least half a month.”

The bodyguard’s gaze was complex. “You certainly have some balls.”

In this line of work, it was common to encounter people seeking revenge for their family members. After dealing with one, countless others would still remain. Living on the edge came as no surprise to someone desperate.

Caleb’s voice was devoid of emotion as he spoke. “I’ve been in numerous fights before. At first, I would often end up badly beaten, but once I got the hang of it, it wasn’t difficult anymore.”

The bodyguard didn’t utter a word, yet he found himself sharing Caleb’s sentiments. After all, he had experienced the same in the past. When he first worked for the Yardley family, he was inexperienced and often suffered significant injuries during training. Despite his injuries, he dared not defy Miriam’s orders and was compelled to continue. Over time, he grew stronger, and each punch he threw was heavier than before. Often, it only took a few blows before his opponent would fall. His rise to his current position was entirely due to his unwavering determination. His thirst for status and power relentlessly drove him forward. He refused to admit defeat regardless of the difficulties he encountered. Currently, he had become the leader of several small teams under Miriam’s command. Dozens of people took orders from him, obeying unconditionally.

The car started moving, and the bodyguard remained silent throughout the journey. Suddenly, he said, “Just call me Finn; we’ll be seeing a lot of each other going forward.”

Caleb cast a surprised glance at Finneas Powell, only to find the latter driving with unwavering focus, showing no intention of returning his gaze. Instead, he cast his gaze down at the mat beneath his feet, his voice barely above a whisper.

“If you want me to treat you like a comrade, at the very least, you need to earn my respect first.”

When the jarring sound of brakes pierced the air, Caleb thought he was about to be hit by the bodyguard. To his surprise, the car merely paused for a moment before quickly resuming its journey.

Chapter 240: Driven Mad, Searching for Fumi

"For you in the future, if you want to survive, you must do them at all costs. Otherwise, you’ll end up just like the victims."

"Alright, I understand.”

After these words were spoken, the car fell into silence once again. Finneas didn’t speak again. He pulled up outside the Yardley family’s hospital, waiting for Caleb to get out of the car. After that, the bodyguard prepared to drive away.

“Finneas Powell, you despicable b*stard!”

Chelsea hurried over, then placed both hands on the car door.

“Get out of the car, and explain yourself to me!”

Finneas obediently opened the car door, standing at attention before Chelsea.

Chelsea’s voice was filled with anger. “What’s going on? Why did you take Caleb away from the hospital?”

Finneas honestly replied, “Ms. Yardley, this was a direct order from Mdm. Yardley. I wouldn’t dare act unilaterally.”

Chelsea glared at him. “Of course, I know it was my mother’s order! What I want to know is, why didn’t you tell me before you took him away?”

She was nearly driven mad searching for Caleb. It wasn’t until she checked the surveillance footage and saw that Caleb had been taken away by Finneas that she felt a slight sense of relief. However, she was now troubled by something worse. Miriam had always been ruthless. When she ordered someone to take Caleb away, there was no telling if she intended to do what she had done before—threaten Caleb’s life. Caleb’s injuries haven’t fully healed yet. How could he possibly withstand being beaten up badly?
