"Ah! This is ours!" Jolene exclaimed, frightened. Clutching the wooden fork with the grilled fish, she blocked Meghan's hand to prevent her from snatching it.
Smack!
Meghan slapped Jolene angrily. "You've all eaten, and the rest belongs to Sam and me! Hand it over, or don't blame me for being rude," she said, summoning Samson. "Sam, help me! They're stealing our food! We must defend our share!"
Before Meghan could snatch the fish again, Travis grabbed her wrist and kicked her.
"Argh!" Meghan screamed, staggering back. "You hit me? Aren't you afraid I'll ask Eddie to ban you and make you lose your job?"
Travis sneered. "I'm not limited to the local industry. If I can't survive here, I can go to Kepraria. After all, I debuted in Kepraria and only returned after becoming famous. Edward can't meddle in Kepraria's entertainment industry, no matter how influential he is. The industry doesn't belong to the Gallagher family; he might not be able to blacklist me. Major investors might favor Edward for less valuable celebrities, but not necessarily for valuable ones."
Samson arrived, concerned. "Travis, how could you hit her?" he asked, putting his arms around Meghan's trembling body. Sobbing, Meghan cried, "Sam, they're so bad! They ate our food and beat me! They're inhuman!"
Travis laughed. "What nonsense? When did we steal your food?"
Meghan pointed at the fish. "Stop denying it! You're still holding it!"
"These two fish?" Travis asked.
Meghan nodded. "You admit it!"
Travis retorted, "Are you out of your mind? I never admitted it! Evangeline gave us these fish. When did they become yours?"
Meghan insisted, "I know they're from Evangeline, but you secretly ate our share! You've gone too far!"
Samson agreed. "It's unfair! You should have waited for everyone to share it equally, but you secretly ate it and hit Meghan."
Travis scoffed. "Who said Evangeline gave it to all of us?"
Samson frowned. "Didn't she?"
Travis said, "Of course not! It's a reward for our performance. You don't get a share!"
Meghan's face flushed with anger and embarrassment. "Evangeline is so selfish! She didn't share!" Samson, hesitant, asked Evangeline, "Can Meghan and I get food if we perform?"
Evangeline sneered. "I don't want to see you perform. Just seeing you sickens me."
Meghan raged, "Evangeline, why are you so cold-blooded? We're family! You're worse than an animal!"
Evangeline smiled faintly. "Okay, okay. I'm worse than an animal, while you're the same as an animal, all right?"
Meghan, defeated, pleaded, "Since Evangeline gave you the fish, please give me some. I'll ask Eddie to provide you with resources if you share."
They remained unmoved, knowing Evangeline's dislike for Meghan. Even if they weren't afraid of Evangeline, they considered sharing the food beneath them.
Meghan pleaded, "Are you so cruel as to leave me to die? I haven't eaten for days!" They thought, She won't starve. There are wild vegetables.
Enraged, Meghan cursed, "You're selfish and cruel! You'll go to hell!" They ignored her.
"Stop it, Meghan. Let's go," Samson said, pulling her away.
The livestream comments included:
- "Look, it's so funny! Meghan's brazen!"
- "I'm embarrassed for her!"
- "I enjoy watching them make fools of themselves!"
- "When they couldn't find food, the production team just let them be. Aren't they afraid they'd starve?"
- "Judging by how they still fought, they have energy."
- "The production team should have backup plans."
After Meghan and Samson left, Jolene and the others finished the fish. Jolene then sang for Evangeline, accompanied by Travis. Evangeline enjoyed the performance.
In the distance, Meghan fumed. "Damn it! It's all Sam's fault!"
On the fifth day, Evangeline left, preferring the company of monkeys. Meghan and Samson, hungry, followed her secretly, planning to steal her food. Samson, hesitant, agreed. They survived on wild vegetables for five days, unsure if they were poisonous.
Evangeline noticed them but didn't care. She deliberately walked at a regular pace. She reached the foot of a mountain where monkeys gave her bananas.
Meghan, witnessing this, seethed, believing even monkeys preferred Evangeline.
