Listen to this chapter:

"Fuck off!" Arthur, Hugo, Steven, and Finnegan shouted in unison.

Jasper bellowed, "I'm talking to Queen Jade, not you! What right do you have to ask me to leave? You guys are jealous that I can compete with her and are afraid she'll notice me, so you deliberately humiliate me, huh?"

Steven rolled his eyes. "Evangeline said in the livestream that all the Gallagher family members are idiots. She's right."

Jasper's expression changed. "Steven, what's your intention? You deliberately mentioned that shameful incident in front of Queen Jade. Are you trying to give her a bad impression of me? How vicious you are!"

Steven rolled his eyes again. He couldn't believe Evangeline had tolerated those idiots for so long.

Hugo patted Steven's shoulder. "Stop rolling your eyes; you'll strain them. Ignore him. Evangeline must have a plan for remaining silent. We must trust her. She won't be merciful."

Steven's anger subsided slightly. He thought, Evangeline is silent because she doesn't want Jasper to recognize her as Jade. She must have a plan. Let's wait and see.

The group protected Evangeline and continued walking. Jasper didn't give up and chased after them. He scanned the group before staring at Jade. "Queen Jade," he said, gazing intently at her perfect figure, "I'm Jasper, and I'm a member of the Gallagher family, the richest in Hofcaster. I wish I could be your friend." Jade stopped.

Jasper's eyes lit up with joy. I knew it, he thought. Money solves most problems. Once Queen Jade heard that, she immediately stopped for me.

Jade slowly turned and looked at Jasper coldly. Jasper smirked. Then, he saw Jade give him the middle finger, twice.

His smile froze. Jade's gesture was full of sarcasm. Jasper's face turned red with shock and sadness. I can't believe Queen Jade gave me the finger! Why? What went wrong? he thought.

Steven burst out laughing. "Jasper, are you out of your mind? How shameless to claim your family is the richest in Hofcaster before the actual richest man!"

Jasper blushed. "Arthur only became the richest in the last two years. Our family was the richest for over twenty. Even if we're not anymore, we still have a better foundation than Arthur."

Hugo said with a faint smile, "It's ridiculous. No matter how reluctant you are to admit it, your family is now second."

Arthur said coldly, "It seems I've been too merciful to your family recently. That's why you don't take me seriously."

Jasper's expression changed. Damn! They humiliated me. I wonder what Queen Jade thinks now. She gave me the finger. Maybe they spoke ill of me. How despicable! he thought.

Jade, the object of his affections, didn't spare him another glance and headed to the VIP lounge.

After an hour's rest, the final began. The contestants went to the racetrack. Arthur and the others were absent when Jade arrived. Jasper seized the opportunity to approach her.

"Queen Jade," he said, "Did Steven and the others badmouth me? Don't believe them. They're slandering me. They're friends with my evil younger sister, who targeted and hurt our family. But I'm different; she's been expelled. Don't worry about me being like her. She's very capable, though. After leaving the Gallaghers, she hooked up with Arthur and Steven. I don't know what tricks she used to make them slander me."

Jade glanced at Jasper coldly. He felt a murderous intent, trembled, and stopped talking. When he recovered, Jade was in her car. He could only get in his own, muttering, Forget it. I'll talk to Queen Jade after the race. Hopefully, I can get her number.

Nine contestants were in the final, required to drive a mountain circuit for three laps. It wasn't particularly difficult, but the many curves tested skill.

The race began. Jade's car led. Jasper drove fast, initially in second place, but was overtaken in the first turn. After two laps, he was last. He was anxious but couldn't overtake.

Feeling utterly despairing, he thought, It's not easy to meet Queen Jade and compete with her, yet I'm performing poorly. She must think I'm useless.

Suddenly, he saw a familiar car ahead. "Isn't that Queen Jade's car? How is that possible?" he murmured.

He drove beside Jade's car, which then pulled slightly ahead. His heart raced. "Is Queen Jade waiting for me? Has she noticed me?"

He was so excited his hands trembled. He tried to calm down, knowing being overwhelmed during a race was bad. But his heart pounded.

To his surprise, Jade accelerated, blocking cars slowing for a corner, even using her car to push them toward the guardrails.

Jasper overtook. Jade repeated this tactic several times. After the last turn, Jasper led.

He was overjoyed. "Queen Jade is helping me! She must be attracted to me! Arthur and Steven must be pissed!"

The finish line was near. Jasper accelerated. Jade was closely behind. He thought she would overtake, but he didn't mind giving her first place.

To his surprise, Jade slammed into his car on the driver's side.

The impact stunned him; his vision went black. He couldn't react.

"There's a car accident!"

"How could Queen Jade make a mistake overtaking?"

"Could it be that Queen Jade has been out of action for too long and is rusty on the racing, so she made such a mistake?"

"Queen Jade isn't the same anymore"

The audience was shocked. They thought Jade had accidentally crashed into Jasper. Jade's car, however, pushed Jasper's toward the finish line. As they neared it, Jade's car drifted and crossed the line in reverse, pushing Jasper's car across the line, slightly ahead of him.

Evangeline got out of the car. She waited for other cars to finish before approaching Jasper's driver's side window.

The front of Jasper's car was deformed; the door was crushed, especially the driver's side. His legs were trapped; the windshield was shattered, cutting him. He'd lost consciousness from the impact.

Evangeline forcefully pressed his chest. He slowly regained consciousness, weak and barely able to support his head. Blood dripped from his forehead into his eyes. He blinked before the discomfort subsided.

He turned and saw a familiar figure.

"J-Jade! Are you here to save me? Thank you You're the best in the world" He squeezed out a smile. He seemed to have forgotten Jade had hit him, or perhaps thought a crash was normal. Her care proved she was kind and had noticed him.

"Queen Jade must have noticed me! She helped me win!" he thought. A warmth filled his heart. "Queen Jade, thank you"

As he thanked her, she removed her helmet. Her long black hair cascaded down, shining brightly. A gorgeous face was revealed.

Jasper's eyes widened; his expression froze in disbelief and horror.

"H-How is it possible?" His chest heaved. "Evangeline, why are you here? How can you be Queen Jade?"
