Chapter 1021: I'm Going to Pursue Little Bunny!
Theodore, long accustomed to Susanโs personality, even enjoyed their banter. He bluntly announced, โI got divorced.โ
โWith whom?!โ Susan exclaimed.
โWhy do you care? Do you think Iโve been married hundreds of times?โ Theodore snapped.
Susan sat up in bed. Manuel awoke and turned to her.
โOh, almost forgot, youโve only been married once, despite sleeping with many women,โ Susan teased. โSo Little Bunny finally dumped you?โ
โNonsense! I dumped her! Iโve never lacked for women. She couldnโt dump me!โ Theodoreโs anger flared.
โThen why are you so worked up?โ Susan, knowing Theodore well, understood his temper.
โIโm not! I just wanted to celebrate with you!โ Theodore stubbornly denied it. โI thought we could have a drink.โ
โIโm pregnant,โ Susan retorted, ignoring his attempts at saving face. โJust admit it; she dumped you, and youโre seeking comfort. Donโt worry, my lips are sealed!โ
โAs if you wouldnโt tell Manuel!โ
โI swear!โ Susan promised, immediately putting the phone on speaker.
Manuel was speechless. He found Susan adorable when she acted this way.
โYou said it!โ
โThough sometimes careless, Iโm loyal to my friends,โ Susan declared righteously. โI wonโt betray you.โ
Theodore agreed; Susanโs sharp tongue notwithstanding, she was true to her word, especially to Hannah. He took a deep breath and confessed, โYes, she dumped me. She said I was dirtyโฆโ
Theodore recounted his encounter with Little Bunny, needing to confide in someone without judgment. He couldnโt confide in Oscar or Manuel, but Susan seemed approachable.
โI shower daily! I wash my hair, change clothesโฆโ Theodore rambled.
โLittle Bunny doesnโt dislike you for that,โ Susan interrupted.
โI donโt understand! Sheโs just a third-tier actressโฆโ
โSheโs first-tier now.โ
โEven first-tier, sheโs still an actress!โ Theodore sneered. โWhat gives her the right to insult me? Sheโs far dirtier than I am in this industry.โ
โNo, she isnโt,โ Susan said seriously. โSheโs always been clean, never doing anything shady.โ
โJust because of that, with no power or influence, she made it this far?!โ Theodore was incredulous.
โManuel and I helped her.โ
Theodore was surprised.
โWe met Little Bunny at social events. Weโd introduce her to directors and producers. I donโt know if it helped, but she worked hard and starred in popular works, earning her place.โ
โWhy didnโt you tell me?โ Theodore was unhappy.
โWhat good would that have done? Youโd never have helped her anyway.โ
โShe didnโt ask for my help either!โ
โExactly! Do you understand vision? People like you, lacking vision, deserve to be disliked.โ
โI wanted comfort, not lectures about Little Bunny insulting me!โ
โFacing reality is better than self-deception,โ Susan advised kindly.
Theodore was speechless.
โNow youโre divorced, why care so much?โ Susan asked. โYou have plenty of women; forget Little Bunny.โ
โBut I found outโฆโ
โWhat?โ Susan asked, curious.
โNothing.โ
โDonโt tell meโฆ youโre reluctant to let go? Or evenโฆfallen for her?โ
โNonsense! How could I like her? I wouldnโt give up an entire forest for one crooked tree!โ Theodore said fiercely. โIโm just upset! I want to strangle her.โ
โTheodore, youโre not being honest!โ Susan called him out. โIf you had no feelings for Little Bunny, you wouldnโt care, right?โ
Theodore was lost. Why was he so angry? Why was Little Bunny consuming his thoughts? He wouldnโt have called Susan otherwise.
โGive up!โ Susan advised sincerely. โDonโt cause trouble. She dislikes you; trying to make peace would be humiliating.โ
โWhen did I say I wanted peace?โ
โI knew you wouldnโt tell the truth.โ
โItโs not that I like her. Itโs the anger!โ
โTheodoreโฆโ
โIโve decided. Iโm pursuing Little Bunny!โ
โAre you crazy?โ Susan exclaimed.
Manuel subtly calmed her.
โIโll make her fall in love with me, then dump her! Sheโs caused me frustration!โ Theodore declared.
โYouโre causing trouble. Besides, sheโll never fall for you.โ
โArenโt we still friends?โ
โPrecisely because we are, Iโm telling you not to do this.โ
โShouldnโt you be supporting me?โ Theodore was unhappy.
โDo you actually have feelings for her?โ Susan asked.
โNo.โ
โTell the truth.โ
โItโs revenge!โ
Susan, tired of the conversation, turned to Manuel. โManuel, Iโm hungry.โ
โIโll get food,โ Manuel said, standing up.
Theodore exploded. โSusan, you werenโt supposed to tell anyone!โ
โI didnโt! You spoke first! I just put the phone on speaker!โ
โSusan!โ Theodore roared.
Manuel quickly hung up. All that shouting wasnโt good during pregnancy.
