Chapter 1053: He’s Courting Her
Little Bunny’s frustration and rejection spurred a desire to slap Theodore’s self-righteous face. However, she checked her impulse. As a public figure, she couldn't afford to set a bad example. More importantly, she couldn't risk Theodore's wrath; he could easily crush her.
Yet, she couldn't bring herself to comply. She couldn't fathom Theodore's erratic behavior, hoping it was coincidence, not a calculated plan.
Little Bunny remained silent, replacing her eye mask and attempting to sleep. Her deliberate aloofness visibly upset Theodore. He expected her to be ecstatic. Her calm, even indifference, perplexed him.
He frowned slightly. "Little Bunny, you're smart," he said. She bitterly regretted not wearing her earbuds.
"You've caught my attention," Theodore declared fiercely. "You're the first to reject me like this."
Little Bunny endured his words, fighting the urge to shout, "Are you crazy?! Have you watched too many CEO dramas?!"
"I'm having some fun with you," Theodore said with a wicked smile. "I'll make you fall in love with me."
If she hadn't been wearing an eye mask, she would have rolled her eyes. Instead, she pretended not to hear, silently repeating, "You hear nothing. Ignore him..."
Her unresponsiveness led Theodore to believe she was concealing her feelings. He smiled, leaned back, and fell asleep, exhausted from the days he’d sacrificed to take this time off. He'd worked late each day to ensure a comfortable break.
When Little Bunny realized Theodore was asleep, she removed her eye mask. His childishness left her speechless. She pressed the service button, requesting a seat change.
However, most first-class passengers were resting, and after the flight attendant inquired, no one agreed to switch. Little Bunny suspected it was because no one wanted to sit next to Theodore.
The flight from the capital to Hora took three hours. Theodore slept the entire time. Little Bunny, familiar with his sleeping habits, wondered how he’d risen to such power. Was it luck? A childhood relationship with the commander?
Regardless, she had no favorable impression of him.
The plane landed, Theodore still asleep. When a flight attendant attempted to wake him, Little Bunny intervened, claiming he needed rest. The attendant agreed, unknowingly enabling Little Bunny's escape while Theodore slept.
Upon waking, Theodore found the cabin empty except for a flight attendant. "Mr. Wold, are you awake?" she asked respectfully.
"Where is she?" he demanded.
"All other passengers have disembarked, sir."
"Where is Little Bunny?"
"She disembarked as well, sir."
"What?!" The stewardess trembled.
"Why didn't you wake me?!"
"Miss Little Bunny said you were too tired from work, sir. We apologize for not disturbing your rest," she replied.
"Is that what she said?"
"Yes, sir."
Theodore laughed. Little Bunny did care. His exhaustion had been real, and his mood lifted. "Let's go," he said, standing.
His assistant, nearly frantic from waiting, had considered contacting the airline. He'd believed Theodore had eloped with Little Bunny.
Then he saw Theodore emerging from the terminal. "Sir," the assistant rushed to him, "what took so long? I thought you'd left with Miss Little Bunny."
"Overslept," Theodore yawned. "Let's go."
A car waited. The driver headed away from civilization.
"Is this place far?" the assistant asked.
"This is Hora's most remote village," the driver replied. "Many film crews come here for its natural, undeveloped environment."
"Are the living conditions good?"
"Not really," the driver admitted. "Environmental protection prevents development. I worry Mr. Wold won't adapt."
"I thought you arranged accommodation?" the assistant asked, annoyed.
"I did, but my options were limited…"
"Enough," Theodore interrupted impatiently. "How much longer?"
"At least an hour. It's a winding mountain road. Please don't look at your phone too much, sir, to avoid car sickness," the driver warned.
Theodore soon realized something was wrong and handed his phone to his assistant. "Get me a bag. I'm going to throw up." He'd been playing a mobile game.
His assistant felt nauseous as well. The driver stopped; they vomited repeatedly before finally reaching Little Bunny's filming location.
Little Bunny, finishing her makeup, realized the encounter wasn’t a coincidence when she saw Theodore arrive.
