Chapter 1061: Encounter

"She's not here," Theodore said, ignoring Caroline. His mind was consumed by Little Bunny's earlier rejection; he wasn't in the mood for anything else.

"Didn't I just hear she came to your place?" Caroline asked.

What was Little Bunny up to?

"She didn't."

"Where did she go? She moved out of the crew's homestay," Caroline stated.

Theodore paused, running a hand through his hair. He turned back to her. "What did you say?"

"Don't you know?"

Caroline felt a pang of regret. She wished she hadn't told him. Theodore felt the urge to find Little Bunny.

"I don't know," he said coldly, suppressing the impulse. He couldn't show weakness to Little Bunny; she'd only push her luck further.

Caroline was surprised by his inaction. She knew he wanted to find Little Bunny but realized she couldn't mention her now. She moaned, feigning pain to get his attention.

"I just went for a run and thought I'd stop by to see Little Bunny. It was dark, and I sprained my ankle on a rock," Caroline said, looking upset.

Theodore glanced at her gingerly tiptoeing foot. "Do you want to sit for a while?" he asked.

"Thank you," she quickly agreed, struggling toward a nearby chair. As she lifted her foot, she let out a flirtatious groan.

"Ah!" she exclaimed, losing her balance and falling onto Theodore. He caught her swiftly. Her body leaned against his, accidentally pulling his bath towel off.

A naked Theodore stood before her as she clung to him. Little Bunny, who hadn't expected to be there, witnessed the scene.

The night air was bitterly cold; sleeping outside risked frostbite, and she couldn't afford to miss tomorrow's filming. The crew was already on edge with her, and further delays would only worsen their displeasure. She shared a scene with Caroline, who only had half a day of filming, so any delay would make her the scapegoat.

Her shivering, sneezing assistant, Tanya, finally hesitantly went to Theodore's homestay. Many rooms were available, but access required Theodore's permission. Upon arrival, she stumbled upon Theodore and Caroline.

How could Theodore ever be lonely? she mused. Rejected by Little Bunny, he still had options, and Caroline's blatant seduction was obvious. Jealousy fueled Caroline's visit; she resented Little Bunny's better opportunities.

Little Bunny, wanting to avoid them, turned to leave.

"Little Bunny, don't misunderstand," Caroline called out.

A scream followed. Caroline feigned terror at the sight of Theodore's body.

"Shut up! Haven't you seen a man before?" Theodore snapped, releasing her, grabbing his towel and wrapping it around his waist. He stormed out, grabbing Little Bunny's arm.

Little Bunny winced. Tanya remained downstairs, and Little Bunny didn't want their affair exposed.

"Listen, I can explain," Theodore pulled her forcefully. Her arm ached, but she remained silent, hoping for a quick explanation before addressing her own issues.

"It was a misunderstanding. I didn't do anything with her," Theodore stated, his tone more of a command than an explanation.

Little Bunny remained unconcerned. Even if he had been about to do something with Caroline, it was none of her business.

"The guesthouse is full; I need to stay here tonight," she said.

Theodore chuckled, thinking it an excuse. As the lead actress, she shouldn't lack accommodations. But he wouldn't refuse her a favor; now that she had softened, he wouldn't make things difficult.

"Stay here," he said.

"I'll stay downstairs."

"Little Bunny!" Theodore exploded. Who the hell told you to stay downstairs?

"Little Bunny..." Caroline's cautious voice trailed from behind. Theodore was losing patience; he was discussing something important with Little Bunny. Couldn't Caroline show some awareness?

"Don't get me wrong, there's nothing between Mr. Wold and me," Caroline explained sincerely. "I came looking for you, sprained my ankle, and fell on him. We're innocent."

Little Bunny found the situation amusing. The two most morally compromised people claiming innocence was almost comical. Her laughter surprised them both; their hypocrisy was evident in her sarcastic smile.

Caroline's face hardened. Both women had slept with men for their own gains; what right did Little Bunny have to laugh?

Theodore's annoyance flared. "What are you laughing at?!" he shouted.

Little Bunny, realizing her hastiness, said, "Nothing. Whether you're innocent doesn't matter. I just need a place to stay."

"Little Bunny, when will you be honest?" Theodore exclaimed in frustration. It was too late for pretense; earlier honesty would have changed his approach.

"I gave my room away, so I need to stay here tonight. But if Caroline stays, I'll go back to my room," Little Bunny stated flatly.
