Chapter 1065: Any Woman Would Be the Same to Him

Tanya's words left Little Bunny momentarily stunned. She outwardly appeared composed, but inwardly questioned her ability to confront Caroline. The injustice was unbearable. Theodore, however, was someone she'd never considered approaching for help; she distrusted him completely. Yet, Tanya's suggestion sparked a flicker of curiosity.

"I don't think you should tolerate this treatment," Tanya gently encouraged.

Little Bunny had endured much unfairness in the entertainment industry. Many speculated her success stemmed from a wealthy benefactor, but only Tanya knew the extent of Little Bunny's tireless effortsโ€”from endorsements to rolesโ€”achieved without outside assistance. Despite her long career, Little Bunny remained unsullied by scandal or rumor. Even Theodore's unexpected appearance on set earlier hadn't elicited any interest from her; his presence felt more like an intrusion.

Now, however, Tanya saw Theodore's arrival as fortuitous. His intervention could finally bring Caroline to account.

Little Bunny remained conflicted, though she said nothing. She resisted relying on Theodore. As they stood silently in the makeup room, a knock came at the door.

"Miss Little Bunny, Stord is waiting on set. Caroline has already gone ahead!"

"How could she prepare so quickly?" Tanya exclaimed incredulously.

Their surprise quickly morphed into disdain. "She must be faking it," Tanya commented.

Little Bunny understood perfectly. Without further delay, she opened the door and stepped out.

Approaching the set, they heard Caroline profusely apologizing for the delay, meticulously cultivating her "good girl" image. Spotting Little Bunny, Caroline rushed over, taking her hand. "Hey, Little Bunny. You're not still angry, are you?"

Little Bunny looked at Caroline's fabricated demeanor in disbelief, admiring her ability to transform even her life into a performance.

"No," Little Bunny offered a forced smile. Surrounded by others, she couldn't confront Caroline; all she could do was de-escalate the situation and finish filming swiftly.

"That's good," Caroline smiled. "How's your face? Does it hurt?"

"Not really."

"My agent was careless earlier. Don't blame her; she cares about me too," Caroline complained, simultaneously flaunting her supposed virtue.

Little Bunny smiled faintly. "Let's start filming."

"Okay," Caroline readily agreed, addressing polite words to the crew.

Filming commenced. Thanks to both Little Bunny and Caroline's exceptional acting, they smoothly completed several scenes. Caroline finished filming quickly.

After wrapping, Caroline gracefully thanked the crew before heading to the dressing room to change and remove her makeup.

"I've packed my bags and asked our driver to wait. We'll leave directly for lunch," Caroline's agent announced, managing their schedule.

Caroline paused, removing her earrings. "We're going overseas tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, you can rest another day upon our return."

"I want to stay another day," Caroline stated.

"What?" Her agent was surprised. Caroline rarely desired extra time in inconvenient locations.

"The winding roads make me uncomfortable; I didn't sleep well last night and woke up early," Caroline explained. "Besides, staying provides an opportunity to spend more time with Stord, ensuring he doesn't give away my role."

Though the agent found Caroline's approach unusual, she was ultimately persuaded.

"If that's the case, then it's fine."

"Go buy some takeout. We'll treat the cast and crew to dinner tonight."

"Okay."

This would undoubtedly impress the film crew.

Caroline smirked wickedly in the mirror. Her target was Theodore; she wouldn't fail this time.

After removing her makeup, her agent left to buy dinner, leaving Caroline alone. She returned to Theodore's guesthouse.

The owner, recognizing Caroline, allowed her entry.

"Is Mr. Wold here?"

"In the yard," the owner replied, "waiting for Miss Little Bunny for lunch."

Caroline felt a pang of displeasure. Little Bunny had kept Theodore waiting. She politely greeted the owner and headed to the guesthouse's elegant backyard.

Theodore sat in a rocking chair, eyes closed. Caroline approached quietly, her body tense. Theodore swiftly grasped her arm, pulling her into a tight embrace. Without opening his eyes, he kissed her deeply. Her heart fluttered; she hadn't forgotten his rejection the previous night.

She closed her eyes and kissed him back actively.

Little Bunny observed them from nearby, unsure whether to approach. The thought that Theodore was equally indifferent to any woman extinguished her hope for his help. She turned to leave.

"Miss Little Bunny!" Theodore's assistant, Samson, called out from outside.
