Chapter 1136: I Must Have Saved the Galaxy

Susan grumbled as she followed Manuel out of the house and into the car. She chattered incessantly, causing Manuel to laugh.

"Why are you laughing? My mother bullied me! Do you have any conscience?" Susan yelled angrily. "If she and I fell into a river, you'd save her first!"

"She can swim," Manuel replied. "She doesn't need me."

"I'll die an irritating death, Manuel," Susan declared angrily.

"I won't let that happen," Manuel said seriously. "Troublemakers live the longest."

"Manuel!" Susan's voice was deafening.

Manuel rubbed his ears, then parked beside the road. Susan glared. "Why did you stop here?"

"To do what you love," Manuel said frankly.

Susan's eyes widened. "What... um..."

Manuel silenced her with a kiss.

Theyโ€™d lacked intimacy at home lately due to the baby. Edward and Justine were constantly around, frustrating Manuel's attempts to kiss Susan. He'd never succeeded until now, in the privacy of the car.

Initially, Susan resisted, but Manuelโ€™s masterful kissing quickly captivated her. The kiss continued until Susan noticed a wet spot on her shirtโ€”breast milk. She felt embarrassed and annoyed.

"It's normal," Manuel reassured her quickly.

Susan, eyes red, exclaimed, "Does this mean we can't even kiss anymore?"

"Not while you're breastfeeding."

"I want to stop breastfeeding now!"

Manuel knew arguing was futile. He changed the subject. "Let's go shopping."

"Manuel! How can I go shopping like this?!" Susan gestured to her damp clothes. She covered her chest, screaming, "You're mocking me!"

"Iโ€ฆ I want to pounce on youโ€ฆ" Manuel, frustrated, grabbed her hand and pressed it against himself.

Susan was stunned.

"Can you feel it?" Manuel asked sharply.

Susan flushed. Manuel, unrestrained, said, "You're a fatal temptation. You evenโ€ฆ try to entice me?" He glanced at her wet clothes.

"I need some air," Manuel announced, opening the car door. He lay down on the car's hood, seemingly releasing pent-up tension. He'd been enduring this for too long.

Susan felt sorry for him. Postpartum, intimacy should be safe, but Edward and Justine always interfered.

After a while, Manuel returned, took a deep breath, and said, "Let's go home, change your clothes, then go to the movies. We'll come back later."

Susan fell silent, fearing another outburst.

Manuel drove quickly. Justine and Edward were surprised to see them return so soon, then leave again.

"What's wrong with them?" Edward asked, perplexed.

Justine smiled knowingly.

When they returned, Susan was unusually well-behaved, fearing another interruption.

Finally, they reached the cinema. Manuel bought popcorn, milk for Susan, and Coke for himself. They settled into the theater, watching a romantic movie.

"Is this Little Bunny's movie?" Susan asked.

"Yes. You wanted to see it," Manuel replied.

Susan was touched. He always remembered her casual comments. She took his hand, resting her head on his shoulder. "I must have saved the galaxy," she murmured.

Manuel smiled, feeling equally fortunate. The movie, a tragic love story, ended. Susan cried, admiring Little Bunny's performance.

"I shouldn't have let you watch it," Manuel said.

Susan had cried openly. Someone might think her love life was disastrous.

"Wasn't their love story touching? Little Bunny was amazing! That feeling of losing someoneโ€ฆ just thinking about it makes me want to cry again," Susan choked out.

"It's just a movie. They made it sad to make you cry," Manuel said.

"Why are you so cold-blooded?" Susan complained.

Manuel remained silent. After drying her tears, Susan murmured, "I think there might be something between Little Bunny and the male lead in real life."
