Chapter 1140: Seen by Theodore

After returning home, Theodore couldn't calm himself. He knew Little Bunny wouldn't return until after midnight, but he arrived early to wait. The overnight wait was agonizing. Several times he almost called, asking how much longer, but he hesitated, unwilling to disturb her work or reveal his own anxieties. He feared confessing his feelings; Little Bunny wouldn't believe him, he thought, and would surely reject him.

He spent the night lost in a blur of activity. He devoured gossip articles about Little Bunny and Addison, fueling a growing suspicion of their romantic involvement. Numerous details made it difficult to deny the evidence, yet he still resisted doubting Little Bunny, fearing her immediate confession if confronted.

What could he do? Should he simply let her go, fulfilling Little Bunny and Addison's desires?

Overwhelmed and breathless, Theodore left the house for a walk. It was past 2 a.m., and she still hadn't returned. He fretted, but understanding her work, he waited, pacing back and forth. Inadequately dressed, he shivered in the cold, yet hesitated to go inside and change, clinging to the hope of her imminent arrival. He stood for nearly an hour.

Then, he saw a car pull up. Could it be Little Bunny? He didn't recognize the vehicle, but intuition suggested it was her. As he approached, he saw two figures inside: Little Bunny and Addison, appearing intimately close, like a couple inseparable. Even without hearing their conversation, their closeness was undeniable.

He wavered between confronting them โ€“ dragging Little Bunny away or confronting Addison โ€“ but ultimately, he only watched from the shadows. Addison kissed her, and Little Bunny responded.

Theodore couldn't recall Little Bunny ever reciprocating his advances. He'd always assumed his own forwardness was the issue, overlooking the possibility that she simply wasn't interested. The sight of their embrace solidified this painful realization. With a heavy heart, he turned and left.

Susan's words about future retribution echoed in his mind. He'd dismissed them before, but now understood their agonizing truth. Returning home, numb with cold, he feigned normalcy, settling onto his bed and playing mobile games.

If only Little Bunny had looked at him, she would have noticed his stiff, trembling hands.

"Are you still awake?" Little Bunny asked, her voice gentle yet distant, a carefully constructed facade.

"Just playing games," Theodore replied, eyes fixed on his phone.

"I'm going to shower," she said, entering the bathroom, leaving him alone with his thoughts. He wondered if her smile had vanished the moment she turned away.

Abandoning his game, he followed her into the bathroom without knocking. He found Little Bunny staring at herself in the mirror, touching her lips. The marks of another's kiss. Was she reliving the moment?

At his entrance, she lowered her hand, her eyes filled with panic, as if fearing discovery of her secret or their marriage. His presence always seemed to spur her flight.

"Let's shower together," Theodore said smoothly, ignoring the obvious.

"Haven't you showered yet?" she asked, noticing the faint redness of her lips and carefully examining them, wary of his perceptiveness. Theodore might appear nonchalant, but his sensitivity was acute. She had to be cautious, both for his sake and Addison's. The memory of Theodore's violent reaction to her previous assault lingered. She couldn't allow a repeat with Addison. She vowed to prevent any future such encounters.

He didn't answer, simply undressing and stepping into the shower. They often showered together, especially after intimacy. He usually lifted her from the bed, and she always showered again afterward, seeking a sense of cleansing.

Little Bunny also undressed and entered the shower. They hadn't seen each other for two weeks. She knew his intentions were purely sexual.

As she joined him, his gaze fell on her swollen lips. Her nervousness was palpable. Had he noticed? But if he had, wouldn't he react differently?

Unconsciously, she went to bite her lip.

But before she could, Theodore embraced her, pinning her against the wall, his kiss rough, almost brutal. It wasn't a kiss, she felt, but a bite, a relentless, painful pressure on her lips.
