Chapter 1145 Little Bunny, What Do You Think of Yourself?

Little Bunny couldn't believe she'd blurted it out. She'd been suppressing her feelings, waiting for Theodore to make a move. She didn't want to offend him; she was grateful for his help with Caroline, but their time together had far exceeded her expectations. She'd thought three months at most, that he'd tire of her. But six months had passed, and she still sensed no intention from him to end things. Every call or message felt like a ticking time bomb. She couldn't continue living like this. Since he'd spoken first, she decided to express herself, even if it meant a bitter end.

"So you're with Addison now?" Theodore asked sarcastically.

"No," she denied, unwilling to involve Addison or risk Theodore's retaliation.

"Protecting him? Afraid of my retaliation?" Theodore sneered.

"No! We're not together!" Little Bunny insisted.

"Then I must have been mistaken when I saw you two kissing last night?"

Caught off guard, she avoided details. "We were both drunk."

"And yet Addison could still drive?"

"Believe what you will."

"Why can't you be honest with me?" Theodore asked coldly.

"I am being honest! I don't want to be with you! It has nothing to do with anyone else!" Little Bunny's voice rose with frustration and passion.

"Just give up on your crush," Theodore said icily. "Give up on him because I haven't tired of you yet! Until then, no other man is allowed to touch you! Don't let me catch you kissing another guy. Or you, or Addison, will face consequences. Don't doubt me!"

"I never doubt you!"

"That's great. Go make lunch, I'm hungry."

Little Bunny went to the kitchen. Theodore returned to the couch, staring at the increasingly blurry ceiling, replaying her words, "I don't want to be with you!" It didn't matter; he liked her, regardless of her feelings. He rarely cared about others'.

As Little Bunny quietly prepared lunch, her eyes reddened. She realized expecting anything from him was futile. Her earlier belief that he'd changed, that he cared about others' feelings โ€“ after she'd cut her finger โ€“ proved wrong. His declaration that he wasn't tired of her, and wouldn't allow others near her, rendered her confession meaningless. She had to wait until he grew bored.

Theodore lay silently on the couch while she cooked. Tanya called, urging her to leave for work, but Little Bunny stayed.

When the meal was ready, she called, "Lunch is ready," but received no response. He seemed asleep.

Should she wake him? Hesitantly, she decided against disturbing him, since he preferred things this way. But as she turned, Theodore suddenly grabbed her hand.

"Are you going to leave without saying goodbye again?" His eyes were open.

"I didn't want to disturb your sleep."

"The food's done?"

"Mhm."

Theodore sat up. Little Bunny tried to withdraw her hand, and he released it. Except in bed, she rarely let him touch her, and never initiated anything.

They ate lunch quietly. Little Bunny ate little; she'd only had salad earlier and wouldn't have eaten if not for him. She didn't want to cause trouble.

"Theodore," she said, using his name since she disliked formal titles and intimate ones alike. He didn't seem to mind.

"I have an afternoon engagement. A last-minute thing my agent couldn't cancel," she explained.

"Um," Theodore responded, "I'll take you."

Little Bunny looked up. He met her gaze. "Am I so scandalous?" he asked.

"You're the captain, it's inconvenient."

"Is it only my identity, or do you not want our relationship discovered?"

"I don't want to be found out," Little Bunny replied. "It's nothing to be proud of. I have my dignity."

"So, Little Bunny, what do you think of yourself?"

"A mistress."

Theodore's grip on his fork tightened.

"I'm done eating," Little Bunny said, ignoring his mood. "I'm going to touch up my makeup."

She left.

"You should come back here every day from now on," Theodore said suddenly. Little Bunny stiffened.

"Move in with me, instead of just visiting."

"Theodore..."

"Since you're a mistress, you should be obedient. Whatever I say, goes. No negotiation," Theodore said coldly.

She understood his retaliation.

She said, "Okay."

Perhaps, constant proximity would tire him of her sooner. Infrequent meetings added a sense of novelty.

Little Bunny left the dining room. Theodore lost his appetite. He wasn't hungry, but he'd wanted to dine with her.

He sat there. Little Bunny, after finishing her makeup, returned to the kitchen. Seeing he'd finished eating, she began clearing the dishes.

Theodore watched her. "Little Bunny, what would you do if I said I don't want you in the entertainment industry anymore?"
