Chapter 1146: Angering Theodore
Little Bunny regarded Theodore with indifference. Honestly, Theodore could be terrible, but she had tolerated him before. However, she wouldn't endure his attempt to force her to abandon her career. Why should Theodore take everything from her? She'd already sacrificed once for motherhood, but this time, she wouldn't yield easily.
"I will resist," she stated firmly.
"Is money not enough? Name your price," he offered.
"I prefer earning my own money; it's clean," she replied.
Theodore sneered. "Clean? Which penny in the entertainment industry is clean?"
"Theodore, it's not as dark as you think," Little Bunny retorted. "We earn our money through hard work and effort, not through sordid means!"
"How many men have you slept with to reach your current status as a top star?" he sneered.
Little Bunny bit her lip. His words were humiliating, leaving her feeling powerless to refute them. How low did he consider her to speak so recklessly?
"Is it too embarrassing, or can't you count anymore?" he pressed.
"If you find me so dirty, let's end this now," Little Bunny said, refusing to explain to someone who wouldn't believe her. He'd only believe what he wanted to believe.
"You're doing all this just to leave me!" Theodore mocked.
"Yes."
Confrontation seemed inevitable.
"I told you, I haven't had enough fun yet!" he raged.
She knew she'd invited trouble by confronting him. Silence followed; Theodore, too, was suppressing his anger. He hadn't intended to push her this far, but he couldn't control his wrath. He wanted her to care more.
The room fell silent.
Little Bunny washed the dishes. Theodore remained motionless at the table. A cold war descended; neither spoke. After finishing the dishes, Little Bunny said, "I'm leaving." Theodore didn't respond. Taking his silence as acquiescence, she left without looking back.
Outside, her composure crumbled, and she felt disgusted with Theodore.
After an impromptu announcement event, it was dinnertime. The organizers invited Little Bunny; her agent accepted, eager to invest in a variety show to further boost her popularity.
At dinner, Little Bunny discovered Addison was also present. He'd worked with the organizer before and was invited to discuss their upcoming project, a variety show for which both Little Bunny and Addison were being considered.
The conversation flowed until Little Bunny announced, "Scheduling might be an issue. I received a call from Stord days ago about collaborating on a suspense drama. Stord is strict about schedules; he doesn't allow his actors to juggle two jobs."
Her agent looked surprised. "Why haven't I heard about this?"
"I met him briefly at an event. We discussed working together on his new project. The script's still being finalized, so he hasn't mentioned specific roles yet," Little Bunny explained.
"If it's Stord's drama, we can't refuse," her agent said, turning to the organizer. "We'll coordinate schedules, but if there are conflicts, we'll prioritize Stord's project, as acting is our main focus."
"I understand," the organizer replied graciously. "Little Bunny's a talented actress; filming should be her priority. We'll adjust the schedule when she's available."
"Settled then. Little Bunny, let's toast Mr. Ackles," the agent said.
As they discussed scheduling over dessert, everyone seemed satisfied. Little Bunny stood, raised her glass, and offered a toast.
Afterward, the organizer said, "You and Addison have worked together often; you should drink together. Don't leave me drinking alone!"
"Little Bunny, have a drink with Addison," her agent urged. "As a senior colleague, he's helped you greatly. You should thank him properly."
Little Bunny raised her glass again. This was part of her job; her agent had brought her for networking, so she needed to be sincere to secure resources.
Addison noticed Little Bunny's face reddening from the alcohol. "Don't drink too much, Little Bunny," he cautioned.
"Mr. Ackles, thank you for your help," Addison said, toasting the organizer. He was also subtly protecting Little Bunny from getting too drunk.
"Addison, are you blocking drinks for Little Bunny...? Are you two dating?" someone asked.
"How could that be?" Addison denied it, as it wasn't time to publicly acknowledge their relationship.
"Why not? Fans think you're dating! Even if true, there shouldn't be any problems, right?"
"I'm just friends with Addison," Little Bunny said, offering a toast. "Addison, thank you for your help during our collaboration." She finished the entire glass in one gulp.
Addison watched her suspiciously distant behavior, his brow furrowed in confusion. Was she angry about his kiss the previous night? She had responded to the kiss. Without showing emotion, Addison finished his drink.
