Chapter 1147: Little Bunny Rejects Addison

Halfway through the party, Little Bunny excused herself to the restroom. To distance herself from Addison, she socialized enthusiastically, conspicuously ignoring him. She overdid it, however, becoming slightly inebriated. After vomiting and freshening up, she emerged to find Addison waiting.

He caught her before she could avoid him, pulling her into an empty stairwell. "What happened to make you so distant?" he asked, bewildered.

"Nothing. Our relationship is justโ€ฆ this," she replied coldly.

"Little Bunny, you know my feelings, and I know yours. Why are you saying this? Were you angry about me kissing you last night? I apologize; I won't do anything without your consent again," he said, his voice laced with affection and a hint of pleading. "Don't be mad at me; it scares me."

"It's not that," Little Bunny insisted, her tone indifferent. "We don't have a special relationship; I'm simply being polite."

Addison's agitation grew. "You weren't like this before! Did something happen with Theodore yesterday?" He couldn't comprehend this abrupt change after their shared kiss. He'd anticipated another tender moment, but instead encountered coldness.

"No, I just don't have feelings for you."

"Were all your previous words lies? I don't believe it!" Addison was incredulous. "Did Theodore threaten you? What right does he have to force you? His power shouldn't grant him impunity!"

"Enough. I told you, I can't return to a life of vulnerability," Little Bunny stated firmly. She didn't want to involve Addison in her conflict with Theodore; their volatile relationship could explode at any moment. She could bear the consequences alone but wouldn't let Addison suffer them too. This was solely between her and Theodore. She needed to sever ties with Addison now.

If she left Theodore later, with her reputation intact, perhaps she could rekindle things with Addison. But if Theodore destroyed everything, she would leave Addison forever.

"Is your career all that matters?" Addison asked, disbelieving.

"Yes. I worked hard for years, despite discrimination and unfair treatment. It's not something I'll give up easily. I'm sorry, forget what happened," she said coldly, walking away.

Addison caught up and grabbed her. A pang of sadness pierced Little Bunny; she'd hurt someone who loved her deeply. But sometimes, a quick resolution was better than prolonged pain.

She tried to push him away, but he pulled her against the wall. She glared at him fiercely.

"How can your feelings disappear? How can you suddenly stop liking me?" Addison asked, tears welling in his eyes. "What do I have to do to make you believe?"

"Kiss me," Addison said, looking intently into her eyes. "I don't believe you don't have feelings for me."

Little Bunny's lips pursed; she hadn't expected this.

"If you kiss me and still leave, I won't force you," he offered.

"Okay."

For actors, kissing was commonplace. Emotionless kisses were easy for her. Little Bunny leaned towards Addison. Their breaths mingled; her heart raced, yet she maintained control. She closed her eyes, ready to kiss him, when a cold voice cut through the air.

"If you dare kiss him, I'll ruin both your careers!"

Theodore appeared, his ominous tone startling them both. "This is what you meant by nothing happening between you and Addison?" he sneered. "What if I hadn't arrived? You would have kissed him and gone to a hotel room! You're dirty."

Little Bunny remained calm despite Theodore's taunts. Her priority was protecting Addison from this dangerous man, who terrified her.

"Do you believe me if I say nothing is happening between us?" Little Bunny asked calmly.

Theodore laughed mockingly.

Little Bunny maintained her composure. "I know my words won't change your mind. I can't explain what happened, but I promise it won't happen again." There was no excuse; all she could offer was a promise.

She broke away from Addison, who tried to stop her. Little Bunny swatted his hand away. "Don't touch me! Compared to Theodore, you're nothing!"
