Chapter 1191: In Prison

Three days later, the media revealed Addison's retirement from the entertainment industry. He held a press conference, announcing a temporary retirement to focus on behind-the-scenes work. The news sent shockwaves through the entertainment world, leaving fans stunned. No one anticipated Addison abandoning such a promising career at its peak.

However, a week later, Theodore's arrest for alleged abuse of power overshadowed Addison's retirement, becoming nationalโ€”even internationalโ€”news. The arrest of such a powerful figure was shocking.

Little Bunny, filming abroad after her breakup with Theodore, learned of the arrest through overheard conversations on set. Initially disbelieving, she confirmed the news in Northfield's official statement, prompting tears. She suddenly understood Addison's abrupt retirement: if Theodore, while attempting to protect Addison, couldn't shield himself from accusations of abuse of power, he certainly couldn't prevent negative publicity from reaching Addison. As a public figure, Addison couldn't risk bad press; his retirement was likely a preemptive measure. Perhaps Theodore, deliberately silent about his own troubles, had been protecting him all along.

Theodore's actionsโ€”breaking up with her to protect herโ€”filled Little Bunny with sorrow. His secrecy stung; did he believe she could only share his triumphs, not his struggles?

Without hesitation, Little Bunny decided to return home. Despite the organizers' objections, her agent promised to bring her back within three days after she spoke with Theodore. Understanding Little Bunny's lingering feelings, her agent personally flew to bring her home.

Upon arriving in the capital, Little Bunny immediately called Susan, seeking help without bothering Laird. Susan, anticipating the call, stated that Theodore had requested she divulge nothing about his case. Susan suspected a connection between Theodore's predicament and Little Bunny.

"I'm not asking about Theodore's situation," Little Bunny said calmly. "I just need your help seeing him."

"He's securely held," Susan replied. "Why visit? Don't worry; no one dares bully him, and he's well cared for."

"Thank you," Little Bunny said gratefully before hanging up.

Her agent, worried, pointed out Theodore's involvement in criminal activities, suggesting potential ruin regardless of his connection to the Commander. Guilt consumed Little Bunny; it was her fault.

"Never mind," the agent offered. "Perhaps in a few years, he'll be a hero again. We in this profession need an exit strategy."

Ignoring her agent, Little Bunny awaited Susan's call. When the phone rang, she answered quickly.

"Little Bunny, go to the east city detention center. Everything's arranged. Go now."

"Thank you."

"It's nothing," Susan sighed, feeling sorry for Theodore. "Be prepared."

"What's wrong with Theodore?" Little Bunny asked nervously.

"Nothing, just a haircut. He looksโ€ฆ different."

"Go. It's a chance to talk to him."

Little Bunny immediately instructed her driver to take her to the detention center. A guard guided her inside. She was nervous; over ten days felt like ten years. She didn't know what to say.

She sat in the meeting room, the time stretching. The iron gate opened. Theodore, in a prison uniform and with a crew cut, appeared. It was as if they were strangers. He seemed to have lost his aura, appearing dull.

Theodore, surprised, initially thought it was his father. He expected his father, not Little Bunny. Why had she come? He didn't want to see her, turning to leave.

"Theodore!" Little Bunny called, rushing to him.

Her action alarmed the guards; one stepped forward, roughly restraining her.
