Chapter 1190: The Talk in the Car

Little Bunny left Theodore's apartment, finding her agent waiting in the garage. She had called her agent while packing, the agent rushing over upon hearing that Theodore had dismissed her. Approaching Little Bunny as she left the building, the agent asked, "Little Bunny, what happened?"

Little Bunny's falling out with Theodore was disastrous; any restriction of her career would be devastating. Tears welled in her eyes. Seeing Little Bunny's distress, her agent refrained from pressing for details.

"Let's get in the car first," the agent said, pulling Little Bunny close before they entered the vehicle. En route, Little Bunny wept uncontrollably, reflecting on their long relationship and his sudden change of heart. She could maintain composure with Theodore, but now her grief poured forth unrestrained. Her agent remained silently supportive until Little Bunny calmed.

Finally able to speak, Little Bunny composed herself. Her agent inquired, "What did you do? Or did he do something wrong?"

"We broke up," Little Bunny replied.

"How come? Everything seemed fine."

"I don't knowโ€ฆ I guess Theodore got tired of me! Everyone says he's unfaithful; I guess his feelings for me are gone, too." Tears streamed down her face anew.

"Theodore is really like that?" her agent murmured, reflecting on past events that seemed consistent with Little Bunny's account of his infidelity.

"Since he's unfaithful, breaking up is good for you. A girl like you shouldn't be treated badly. Breaking up is good, breaking up is good," the agent muttered, then asked anxiously, "You didn't fight too much, did you?"

"I don't think so."

"He won't retaliate?" the agent asked nervously.

Little Bunny looked at her, admitting she hadn't considered that.

"Little Bunny, some gossip."

"What gossip?" Little Bunny was only interested in news about Theodore.

"Addison wants to retire from show business."

"What?" Little Bunny was surprised.

The agent continued, "I heard it too, and it's almost certain; an announcement should come in two days. Apparently, he wants to study directing abroad."

"Why so sudden? How much will he lose at his peak?!" Little Bunny was incredulous.

"He's very determined. He even had a falling out with his agency, settling all his contracts before applying to study abroad. It seems those opportunities are hard to get, and he waited many years for this chance," the agent explained. Turning to Little Bunny, she added, "You saved his life, and he turns around and leaves! It's infuriating."

"Forget it," Little Bunny responded firmly. "Everyone has their pursuits. While I'm sorry, Addison isn't impulsive; we should respect his decision."

"I'm just curious why he suddenly became so irrational," the agent admitted, her interest purely gossipy; Addison wasn't their client. Their priority was maintaining Little Bunny's popularity, avoiding any negative impact from her relationship with Theodore.

"By the wayโ€ฆ do you really like Theodore?" the agent asked softly.

A pang of pain struck Little Bunny's heart; any mention of Theodore caused inexplicable discomfort.

"If you didn't like him that much, you wouldn't have cried your heart out. There are plenty of fish in the sea. If Addison succeeds behind the scenes, you two could even get back togetherโ€ฆ"

"It's not what you think," Little Bunny interrupted.

"Don't think I don't see it. You liked Addison, then fell for Theodoreโ€ฆ" the agent continued.

Suddenly, Little Bunny's phone rangโ€”an unfamiliar number.

"Who is it?"

Little Bunny pursed her lips. It was Addison. Though she'd deleted his contact, his number remained in her memoryโ€”not from lingering feelings, but simple recollection.

"Why aren't you answering?"

"It's Addison."

"See!"

Little Bunny hung up.

The agent frowned, missing a potential networking opportunity. Every resource mattered.

"Little Bunny,"

"Leave me alone."

The agent fell silent, sensing Little Bunny's impatience. She hoped the Theodore situation wouldn't hinder her career, whether through intentional targeting or emotional distress. She'd never seen Little Bunny so distraught. She felt sorry for the breakup, regretting her past misjudgment of Theodore's character and her belief that Little Bunny could change him. She even suspected Theodore would eventually regret his decision.
