Chapter 204: A Chess Game
Hannah entered the Cooper Group office. Rose followed, saying, "Ms. Hannah, Little Bunny is waiting in the conference room. Should she come now, or after you finish your work?"
"Let her come to my office. I want to speak with her now," Hannah replied.
"Yes, ma'am," Rose responded.
Little Bunny arrived shortly, appearing slightly hesitant in Hannah's presence.
"Ms. Hannah," Little Bunny greeted.
"Please sit," Hannah said calmly, continuing to work on her computer.
"Just wait ten minutes," Hannah added.
"No problem. I have nothing else to do," Little Bunny replied quickly.
Hannah chuckled, amused by the thought of a busy celebrity with nothing on her schedule. She focused on her work, while Rose brought two cups of coffee.
After ten minutes, Hannah closed her computer. Little Bunny, who had expected to wait much longer, was surprised by Hannah's efficiency.
Hannah sat opposite Little Bunny and produced a document. "This is the information for the livestream sales event the day after tomorrow."
"Livestream sales?" Little Bunny was confused.
Hannah explained, "Essentially, we're developing an online sales platform. Your role tomorrow will be introducing the various shops. We'll drive consumers to purchase goods online."
Little Bunny was silent, thoughtful.
Hannah continued, sensing her apprehension, "It's different from television shopping. Livestream sales led by celebrities are quickly becoming a trend."
Little Bunny remained unconvinced. The idea of a celebrity participating in livestream sales felt undignified.
Hannah advised, "Little Bunny, you need more public exposure. I guarantee this livestream will be a huge success. What a star needs most is traffic. Without it, even with talent, success is difficult."
"Okay," Little Bunny agreed. It wasn't entirely about the benefits; she felt indebted to Hannah for her first endorsement opportunity.
Hannah smiled, "Believe me, you have a bright future."
"I'm glad to hear that," Little Bunny replied, a smile spreading across her face. The thought of sudden fame was unexpected.
"Review the document," Hannah instructed. "Ask any questions you have."
Little Bunny carefully examined the document, patiently consulting Hannah whenever she was unsure. They worked together throughout the morning.
"I'll work hard to learn the material," Little Bunny said.
Hannah clarified, "Livestreaming differs from other performances or acting. It's about authenticity. The script is a guide; connect with the customers naturally."
"Okay."
"We'll rehearse tomorrow morning."
"Yes." Little Bunny readily cooperated.
"Meet me at the Light Building at ten. Dress nicely," Hannah added before Little Bunny left. Hannah then summoned Rose and Wang, arranging the livestream details for opening day.
The afternoon was well underway. Hannah asked Rose to send Mary Cooper to her office. Mary entered hesitantly and sat down.
"Let's discuss your latest plan," Hannah said, looking at Mary.
Mary was visibly embarrassed, lacking any concrete ideas.
"I... I just joined the company; I know little about marketing," she stammered.
Hannah directly presented a draft, "Could you help me evaluate this promotional plan?"
Mary suspected Hannah had a backup plan in place, given her lack of preparation. Hannah had already refined the draft that afternoon.
Mary felt a mixture of surprise and apprehension. The plan was a sophisticated promotional scheme, flawlessly executed by Hannah.
"Excellent," Mary said, suppressing her jealousy. "You're far more insightful than I am. I'll learn from you."
Hannah bluntly replied, "We needn't compare. If you see no issues, proceed with this plan."
"You're leaving it to me?" Mary was astonished.
Hannah stated frankly, "We share both success and failure. You're the one I chose."
Mary hesitated.
"If you don't want to..." Hannah didn't push her.
"No!" Mary quickly denied, "I'm just considering how to match your success."
Hannah pretended not to notice Maryโs blatant flattery. Mary agreed and left. Rose remained, pondering Hannah's intentions.
Hannah anticipated Rose's thoughts, "First recruit, then outmaneuver."
Rose was astounded. She realized Hannah's actions were all calculated moves in a larger game. How could so many have underestimated her before? That needed to change.
