Chapter 496: Defend Oscar
Oscar looked frigid in the elevator. Theodore, oblivious, continued his relentless chatter. "Manuel's a real man, even if he failed to keep their baby. Oscar, you're handsome and smart, andโฆ well-endowed. But why can't youโฆ"
Hannah couldn't bear it any longer. "Cut the crap! Oscar can do it!" she interjected, defending Oscar before he exploded. Then, to Theodore, she blurted, "He's good in bed."
"Then why the sexual health clinic?" Theodore retorted.
"General check-up," Hannah snapped. "What's your problem? People like you, who skip check-ups, will be dead meat when you get sick!"
Theodore's face paled, speechless. Little Bunny, acutely embarrassed by Theodore's foolishness, was secretly pleased to see Hannah silencing him. She felt such loudmouths deserved a lesson.
"And do you get to decide if Oscar can do it or not?" Hannah challenged.
"So, can you?" Theodore countered.
"Of course! I'm the one sleeping with him!" Hannah's anger spilled over.
Again, Theodore was speechless.
"My happy sex life speaks for itself," Hannah declared, taking Oscar's arm and turning to Theodore. "He's the best in the world. He gives me the greatest pleasure."
Theodore stared, surprised. Little Bunny blushed crimson. She'd considered Hannah introverted, but Theodore had pushed her to the breaking point. She glanced at Oscar; the grim expression had been replaced by a bright smile.
The elevator arrived. Hannah, furious, pulled Oscar out. Theodore watched them go, finally muttering, "Shit! What's the big deal!" Little Bunny giggled, surprised by Hannah's spirited defense. She found herself admiring Hannah more.
"What's with that smile?" Theodore demanded, irritated by Little Bunny's amusement.
Little Bunny pursed her lips.
"Let's go," Theodore said, striding ahead.
He walked so fast Little Bunny had to trot to keep up, gasping for breath once in the carโa detail Theodore never noticed. He abruptly announced, "I'll take you to the mall."
Little Bunny wanted to go home. Though not wildly popular, she was recognizable and craved anonymity.
"Don't worry. You won't be seen," Theodore assured, producing a mask and cap.
Little Bunny suspected Theodore's odd behavior masked ulterior motives, but she was powerless. He was a man of his word, and resistance would only invite his wrath.
The car pulled into the mall's parking lot. Theodore instructed the driver, "I'll take Little Bunny shopping. Wait here. We'll be back soon."
"But Mr. Wold saidโฆ" the driver began.
"Shut up! I'm not going alone. He won't say a word!" Theodore roared, slamming the roof.
The driver fell silent. Theodore took Little Bunny's hand and entered the mall, Little Bunny bundled up, while Theodore swaggered in, checking for followers.
They wandered for ten minutes before Theodore hustled Little Bunny onto an elevator, pressing a button quickly.
Little Bunny frowned, wondering about their destination within the mall's hotel, but followed silently. Instead of reception, Theodore led her directly to a lavish guest room. A strikingly alluring woman opened the door, fixing Theodore with a sultry gaze. "Oh, dear Mr. Wold, I've been waiting ages," she purred.
"Ah, I'll bring you back to lifeโฆ" Theodore grinned wickedly, scooping her into his arms and entering the room.
Little Bunny, mortified, watched them from the doorway, seemingly forgotten. They embraced on the bed, both clearly aroused.
Little Bunny pursed her lips, quietly closing the door. Theodore's sudden change of mood had made his intentions clear.
She stood there, her feelings a complex tangle. She had no reason to demand fidelity; there was no love, no desire for marriageโjust the baby. Little Bunny lowered her head to her burgeoning belly, guilt weighing heavily.
Hannah sat in the car with Oscar, who maintained a cheerful smile. Hannah, however, felt awkward about her outburst in the elevator, acutely embarrassed by the witnesses.
"Greatest pleasure?" a deep voice murmured in her ear.
Hannah blushed crimson.
"I didn't know I'd made my wife so happy," Oscar teased, looking smug.
Did men's lives revolve around their sexual prowess? The man who'd looked devastated at Theodore's insinuation now beamed at her praise.
"Honeyโฆ" Oscar began.
"Shut up, or I'll jump," Hannah threatened, refusing to indulge him.
Oscar suddenly pulled her into his arms. Hannah struggled, but found herself trapped in his warm embrace.
"I'm pleased," he whispered.
Their hushed words sent shivers down Jimmy's spine.
"I mean, happy to have made you happy," Oscar clarified, lightly biting her flushed ear. "I always worry I'm not a good husband."
