Chapter 635: Do You Think I'm Not Good to You?

"I just know it," Oscar said seriously. "I'll have a daughter."

"I'm the one giving birth," Hannah corrected. "The gene for a boy or girl is up to me."

Hannah thought, This guy isn't that stupid.

"So, it'll be a little princess," Oscar chuckled.

Hannah felt a sense of unreality. She'd longed for this moment, and now, finally, she was pregnant.

Oscar guided her slowly out of the hospital. Hannah even questioned his deliberate, slow pace with those long legs, but she didn't want to rush him. The leisurely exit felt strangely comforting, as if life itself had slowed down.

"Oscar!" Theodore called out loudly.

This startled Oscar. They turned to see Theodore approaching. Oscar instinctively positioned himself protectively in front of Hannah. Hannah frowned, thinking his reaction was excessive.

"Am I going to eat your wife? Do you have to be so defensive?" Theodore complained.

Oscar impatiently cut him off, "What do you want?"

"Can't I call you? I just happened to see you at the hospital. Am I supposed to ignore you?"

"Didn't you call me to the hospital?" Oscar retorted.

Theodore rolled his eyes. "Is Hannah okay? What's her problem?"

"You have a problem!" Oscar snapped. He noticed Little Bunny trailing behind Theodore. Little Bunny had calmly followed, not expecting him to wait. Theodore glanced back at her.

"You're going to be a father. Grow up," Oscar added pointedly.

After a few more words, Oscar took Hannah's hand and left. Theodore watched them go, sensing something amiss.

"Let's go," Little Bunny finally caught up.

"Is Hannah okay?" she asked.

"Something's wrong," he murmured.

"What's wrong?" Little Bunny's nervousness was evident. She felt a deep gratitude towards Hannah, who had given her the first job opportunity.

"She's pregnant!" Theodore declared, a sly smile playing on his lips. He'd deduced it from Oscar's reaction.

"What?" Little Bunny exclaimed, surprised. Hannah had denied it earlier at the hospital. On reflection, however, it wasn't unexpected; she knew they'd always wanted a child.

"No wonder Mr. Wells seems so considerate," Little Bunny remarked.

Theodore frowned at her. Little Bunny flinched under his gaze, wondering if she'd said something wrong.

"Do you think I'm not good to you?" Theodore asked abruptly.

Little Bunny shook her head. Theodore frowned, sensing her usual caution.

"You're nice to me, and I'm living comfortably," she explained. "But I feel guilty because you're often scolded by your father because of me. I don't have any strong opinions about you."

Since her pregnancy, Little Bunny had been exceedingly obedient and unobtrusive. Sometimes, he felt she was like airโ€”insignificant and unassuming. While other women flocked to him because of his status, Little Bunny remained calm and controlled. He saw her in a new light.

Initially, he'd offered her benefits out of convenience. Now, even with the pregnancy, he intended to continue this arrangement, confident she wouldn't exploit the child. Yet, her quiet acceptance made him question his treatment of her. He usually just paid women off.

Theodore pursed his lips. "You don't need to be afraid of me. I'm not as terrifying as you imagine. As long as you don't provoke me, I won't do anything to you."

"Okay."

Theodore, not known for his attentiveness to women, walked away. Little Bunny watched him go, taking a deep breath.

She felt a persistent depression despite her marriage and impending motherhood. She harbored no expectations, only a desire to escape him. She yearned to return to her acting career after the baby.

From the outset, she felt a deep sense of obligation towards this child. She had a strong feeling the baby would arrive in the next few days.
