Chapter 940: South Bay Wharf
Theodore instantly sensed Oscar's agitation. He watched the video; the woman in the baseball cap, clearly disguising herself, was Hannah. She'd eluded him skillfully. No wonder surveillance footage hadn't revealed her whereabouts.
Theodore's anger burned, but then a chilling realization gripped him: Hannah had gone to find Lillian alone.
"Check all information on this number!" Oscar barked, his voice strained with tension.
"Yes."
A moment later, the soldier reported, "Base station data shows this number communicated with another. Someone called it. Real-time tracking has ceased, but the last location was near South Bay."
"Check the other number."
Oscar fought for composure.
"It's also new, purchased two days ago on Nan Lane. The last communication base station was also near South Bay."
Oscar's fists clenched. Hannah had likely met Lillian.
"South Bay? Isn't that the abandoned pier Lillian led us to before?!" Theodore exclaimed, understanding dawning. "She's hiding there!"
He hadn't anticipated Lillian's cunning. Returning to the same location after their initial search was clever. If only he'd stationed someone thereโฆ Lillian had counted on them not returning so soon.
Theodore's rage trembled through him.
"Lillian played us for fools!" he seethed.
However, Oscar knew Lillian hadn't been at the pier during their previous search. Her return, likely to meet Hannah, meant their investigation wasn't amiss, confirmed by her phone's location data.
"Commander, I have the store video. The SIM card purchaser isn't Ms. Collins."
Oscar saw a man. He understood Lillian's complete disappearance. She had an accomplice, enabling seamless evasion and covert operations.
Oscar's fists tightened. He imagined Hannah with Lillian.
"Theodore, South Bay Wharf!"
"Yes!" Theodore responded, falling in behind Oscar as a motorcade roared into motion, dozens of cars speeding towards their destination.
