Chapter 331: Aurora

โ€œEvander?โ€ I called out, shocked and confused. โ€œWhat do you mean youโ€™ve come to finish what you started? I thought we came here for peace!โ€

I hated the commotion. Piper turned to Dane and me, her eyes blazing. โ€œWhy did you bring him here?โ€

โ€œCalm down, Piper,โ€ Dane said gently, placing a hand on her shoulder. She tried to shrug him off, but Dane held firm, guiding her back into her chair.

I crossed my arms, raising an eyebrow at Evander. โ€œErm,โ€ I cleared my throat, prompting him.

Evander nodded and took a tentative step toward Piper. Her glare intensified, stopping him in his tracks.

โ€œI know you hate me,โ€ he began, his voice heavy with remorse. โ€œBut please, hear me out.โ€

Piper looked away, her gaze softening as it fell on Warrick in the bed. She bit her lip, clearly struggling to hold back tears.

โ€œYouโ€™ve hurt me, Evander,โ€ she said quietly. โ€œMy heart aches because of you.โ€

Evander froze, the pain in her words cutting deep. He glanced at me, his eyes filled with regret and sorrow. Piperโ€™s words were like thorns, but she spoke her truth. Her pain mirrored his own.

โ€œI never meant to hurt you,โ€ Evander said, his voice cracking. โ€œIโ€™m sorry.โ€

Piper didnโ€™t respond. Instead, she walked to Warrick and sat beside him. She leaned down, kissing his cheek tenderly, her hand caressing his bruised face.

โ€œSee what you did to the love of my life?โ€ she said softly, her voice trembling. โ€œLook how hurt he is.โ€

Warrick blinked up at her, confused and disbelieving. โ€œPiperโ€ฆ you?โ€

She nodded, her eyes filled with unshed tears. โ€œI admit itโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve been stubborn. I ignored my feelings because of my pride, but not anymore.โ€ She cupped his face, pressing her forehead against his. โ€œYouโ€™re mine. Okay?โ€

Warrick nodded quickly, his voice a whisper. โ€œAlways and forever.โ€

A smile tugged at my lips as I watched their reunion. It was heartwarming. But then I heard a deep sigh beside me, and turned to see Evander.

His head was bowed, hands buried in his pockets, lips pressed into a thin line. He looked utterly defeated. Stepping closer, I whispered, โ€œAre you okay?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m fine,โ€ he muttered, but his clenched jaw contradicted him.

โ€œMaybe you should step outside for a bit,โ€ I suggested gently. โ€œIf itโ€™s too hard to watch thisโ€”โ€

โ€œIโ€™m fine,โ€ he interrupted sharply. Then, he groaned, โ€œFuck.โ€

I followed his gaze to Piper, softly kissing Warrick.

โ€œYouโ€™re fine, huh?โ€ I sighed, shaking my head.

Evander ignored me, stepping toward the couple. โ€œPiper?โ€ he called, his voice steady but strained.

Piper pulled away from Warrick, her eyes narrowing. โ€œWhat?โ€ she snapped.

โ€œI deserve whatever you think of me,โ€ Evander said earnestly. โ€œBut have you forgiven me?โ€

Piper crossed her arms, her gaze burning into him. โ€œNot until you apologize to Warrick, and he forgives you,โ€ she said firmly.

Evander paused, their eyes locked. Finally, he sighed and nodded. โ€œFine. Okay. Iโ€™m kidding! I just want you both to forgive me. I never shouldโ€™ve tried to come between you two.โ€

Piper and Warrick exchanged a glance. When Warrick nodded, Piper smiled and turned to Evander. โ€œWe forgive you,โ€ she said softly.

Evanderโ€™s face lit up as he moved to hug Piper, pausing at the last second. Instead, he hugged Warrick tightly.

โ€œAhh!โ€ Warrick groaned in pain, and Evander quickly released him. โ€œSorry, sorry!โ€ Evander said sheepishly.

He returned to my side, grinning. โ€œI got her forgiveness,โ€ he said proudly.

I smiled and nodded. โ€œYou did well.โ€

I walked to Warrick, gently brushing his arm. โ€œHow are you feeling now?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m better,โ€ he said with a faint smile. โ€œBut Iโ€™m hungry.โ€

โ€œOh,โ€ I said, glancing around. โ€œIโ€™ll ask someone to bring food for both of you on my way out.โ€

I turned to Dane. โ€œI need to head back to the office. Thereโ€™s a mountain of work waiting for me.โ€

Dane nodded, and I said goodbye before leaving the room.

As I exited the building, I saw Miles pacing nervously. He spotted me and quickly looked around, checking for onlookers.

I stopped in front of him, raising an eyebrow. โ€œIs there something you want to say?โ€

โ€œYes, Luna,โ€ Miles said hesitantly, his voice low. โ€œBut I donโ€™t want the Alpha or the others to know. Itโ€™s about the picture of Warrick and Alinaโ€ฆ the kissing scandal.โ€
