I closed my eyes, taking Piper’s hands. “I will do my best.”

Piper took my hand, touched her head, then kissed it. “Thank you, Luna… what would we do without you?”

I sighed as Piper left me and went to Warrick. She whispered to him from behind, and he turned to me. “Thank you, Luna… If you can save me from this, I will worship at your feet every day.”

I furrowed my brows, suppressing a laugh. “You have to worship the moon goddess, not her servant like me.”

Warrick nodded. “Aurora… Thank you so much.” He turned to Piper, and they smiled at each other before hugging in front of me.

“This problem will soon be fixed, you’ll see. Now that Aurora is involved, she will fix it all,” Piper said, and Warrick laughed.

“Oh… thank goodness,” Piper turned to me. “We better leave you to come up with a plan now… if you need our help, just call us, okay?”

I parted my lips to speak, but before I could say anything, they both left joyfully.

My heart throbbed as I saw their joy. I felt good that they were finally happy, but the fact that they’d placed so much responsibility and trust on me didn’t sit well.

What if I failed them? Their love life and future depended on what I did from now on.

I got up and paced the room, rubbing my forehead as I tried to think. I realized I needed to revisit the source of this—the pictures.

I picked up my phone and dialed Evander’s number.

“Hello? Are you back with the kids? Alright, good, come to my office now, please.”

I ended the call, dropping the phone as I stroked the bridge of my nose.

Piper and Warrick had asked me to call if I needed help, but I couldn’t involve them in what I was doing. Alina would expect them to act, so she would keep an eye on them. I couldn’t let her get a glimpse of my plans.

Evander was the right person to help. According to Alina, Evander loved Piper and would even be glad if Warrick left her, so I was sure she wouldn’t suspect him.

I smiled, leaning on the table. “Things are slowly getting set… I will make sure to expose Alina in three nights’ time.”

Suddenly, a knock sounded on my door. “Come in,” I said.

The door opened, and Alina walked in, heavily pregnant. I stared, frozen.

I was sure she knew my intentions, but I couldn’t let her suspect anything. I had to play along, feigning pity.

“Oh,” I said, forcing a smile as I quickly grabbed a chair and pulled it closer. “Alina, you didn’t have to come all this way. You could have sent someone.”

I held her arm and helped her sit. “Please tell me why you’ve come?”

Alina smiled brightly. “I’m glad you’ve accepted me back into the pack, Luna.”

“Who told you I accepted you?” I asked, narrowing my gaze.

“Huh,” she said, looking down, dejectedly. I was sure much was going on in her mind.

“I mean, I don’t just accept… we will throw a welcome party for you, Alina.”

Her jaw dropped. “Really?”

I nodded. “You’ve been gone so long, only because of some childish mistakes… I know you’ve changed, and now that the pack is peaceful, I’m throwing a party for all pack members who’ve turned over a new leaf. You, Rowan, Miles, Lila, and the rest.”

“Wow… that’s great, Luna.”

I nodded. “Just a small get-together to strengthen the pack’s bond and revive its unity.”

“Nice…” Alina nodded like a lizard.

I smiled as she stared into space. I was sure she had no idea I was onto her.

“Now, tell me why you came, Alina.”

“I came to tell you about this,” she rubbed her tummy. I sighed. The poor child doesn’t know the kind of mother he was coming to meet.

“What about it?”

“Warrick is actually the father… I’m not lying, Luna.”

I nodded, touching her shoulder. “Don’t worry… I know men love to escape responsibilities, but I’ll make sure Warrick does the right thing, okay?”

Alina nodded. “Thanks, Luna…”

I smiled. The door opened, and I saw Evander enter. He glanced at Alina as he passed. “Good day, Alina.”

Alina smiled at him. “Good day, Sir.” She turned to me. “I’ll take my leave now, Luna… I think you have some business to do.”

I nodded. She got up and left. Evander sat down, and I took my seat behind the desk.

“What have you called me for, Aurora?” Evander said, stretching his legs. “I was napping; the kids made me walk all over the pack today, my legs are killing me.”

I slid a set of files to him. “Take a look at these, tell me what you think.”

Evander raised an eyebrow but obliged, checking the property papers. “Good… they’re all done nicely… but…”

I raised a finger, cutting him off. I knew he was going to question why I’d given him these papers.

But I turned my phone to him, and his lips formed an “Oh,” as he saw Alina outside eavesdropping on our conversation via the CCTV camera connected to my phone.
