Chapter 378 I Have My Reasons
Dalton never thought that one day he would be so humble and cry bitterly for a woman.
In his arms, Meryl subconsciously raised her hand to slap him, but his tears made her withdraw it.
She sighed, "Dalton, Chandler didnโt force me. I did it voluntarily. I donโt love you anymore. He has captured my heart.โ
โYouโre lying!โ Tears welled up in Daltonโs eyes. โHow could you not love me! Meryl, thereโs no one else here. As long as you agree, I will be with you forever! Iโll take you away!โ
He was very excited. He said he would be with her forever.
Meryl just found it ridiculous. She distanced herself from him. โYou want to be with me forever, but what about Lydia?โ
โI hate her so much now! I donโt love her at all! Donโt mention her!โ Daltonโs disgust for Lydia was evident.
โSince you have no interest in her, why donโt you be a witness? She plotted the kidnapping case three years ago and conspired with Rocky to frame me. Rocky changed his confession after entering the police station, and you didnโt tell the police what you knew. In other words, you let her off the hook.โ
Meryl gazed up at Dalton. โYou claim that you hate her, but you are kind to her. Donโt you think itโs ridiculous?โ
He explained, โI have my reasons!โ
โReasons? What are they? Is it because sheโs pregnant with your child, or are you hesitant? Is your mother pressuring you? You are husband and wife now, yet you still pester me. I beg you, be together forever, please.โ
Meryl cast an icy glance at Dalton and turned around without hesitation.
โMeryl! Listen to my explanation!โ
โThatโs enough. Dalton, stop pretending to be affectionate. Iโve said before that I love Chandler. We are already through. Donโt bother me anymore. It will only make me look down on you.โ
As Meryl was determined to leave, Dalton stared at her back with his bloodshot eyes.
โMeryl, why did you come to the hospital? Arenโt you here to visit me because you are worried about me?โ
โYou are narcissistic. I came to the hospital for myself, of course. It has nothing to do with you."
Dalton instantly became concerned about her and caught up with her. โAre you sick? Whatโs wrong with you?โ
Recalling that Meryl had just come out of the gynecology department, he suddenly realized something. His eyes widened in disbelief and fell on her belly. โMeryl, are you pregnant?โ
Meryl was unwilling to share too much with Dalton. She booked an early morning flight, eager to head to Griffore and tell Chandler the good news in person.
Meryl reached out to open the emergency door. Unexpectedly, Dalton hugged her waist from behind. She was frightened and instinctively stepped on him.
โWhat are you doing? Dalton, Iโm Chandlerโs wife!โ
โMeryl, donโt be angry with me. Chandlerโs wife? Do you believe he really likes you? He is just using you.โ
โWhat are you talking about?โ
โMeryl, you are naive. Why do you think Uncle Chandler married you? You probably donโt know itโs becauseโฆโ
โI wonโt believe anything you say!โ Meryl interrupted Dalton coldly. She broke free from his grip and slapped him hard.
