Chapter 436 A Familyโs Love
Meryl nuzzled against Chandlerโs chest. โNo, I feel sorry for you.โ
Chandler raised an eyebrow. โFeel sorry for me?โ
โYeah, your dad clearly knows that Dalton is colluding with Zane to harm you, yet he stood by Daltonโs side, trying to downplay the situation.โ
Meryl had once thought highly of Dylan, but after this incident, she felt disappointed. It seemed that, aside from her, no one in this family truly cared about Chandler. He appeared to be someone they could easily sacrifice.
Chandler gently ruffled Merylโs hair. โIโve long since gotten used to it. Not everyone gets the love of their family.โ
Meryl looked up, her eyes sparkling. โI will love you well. Iโm your family.โ
This brought a smile to Chandlerโs face. โOh? Is that so?โ
A strong hand wrapped around his waist. Chandler lowered his head and softly kissed Merylโs lips.
Meryl was momentarily taken aback, the soft touch causing her cheeks to flush.
The kiss was passionate, leaving Meryl feeling weak all over. She leaned into Chandlerโs embrace, surrendering completely to him.
Chandler kept his eyes open, watching Merylโs emotional reaction.
At that moment, holding the woman in front of him tightly, Chandler felt the reality of her return to his life.
He had been in agony for the past half a month.
To avoid raising suspicions, he had to pretend everything was normal.
Since Meryl was in Daltonโs grasp, he worried that the more he searched for her, the more he would provoke Dalton. That would only make things worse for Meryl.
Several times, Chandler had even considered capturing Daltonโs parents and using them as leverage for a trade.
But reason told him that such actions would only worsen Merylโs situation.
As the kiss ended, Chandler still craved more. He leaned down, placing another heated kiss on Merylโs collarbone.
Meryl shivered.
He supported her from behind, kissing her as he made his way toward the upstairs room.
Meryl felt a sense of security from Chandlerโs possessiveness.
After a month of fear, she finally returned home yesterday. Last night, Chandler hadnโt pressured her; he had simply held her as they slept.
But now, he had no reason to let her go.
It was still daytime, and they had the whole day ahead to nurture their feelings.
As soon as they entered the room, Chandler kissed Meryl again. This kiss was markedly different from the earlier gentle ones; it was more intense.
Chandlerโs shirt buttons were completely undone, exuding the charm of a mature man.
His deep-set eyes rested on Merylโs face, his soft lips grazing her delicate skin.
Such light touches truly made Merylโs heart race.
In an instant, she felt her heart might leap out of her chest, her neck arching back involuntarily.
Chandler clearly wanted to take things further.
His face was close to hers, teasing her soft lips with gentle bites, his breath growing increasingly hurried.
Merylโs dress became disheveled. As she felt Chandlerโs hands lifting her skirt, preparing for more, she suddenly remembered something important.
She realized that Chandler didnโt seem to know she was pregnant.
She had experienced severe morning sickness not long ago, unable to keep anything down, but for the past few days, those feelings had subsided.
Sometimes, Meryl even forgot she was pregnant.
She wondered if Chandler would be happy about this child.
