Felix thought Rachel was planning something destructive. If she had proposed any action to harm Meryl, he would have had his dagger ready.

Yet, Rachel, such a coward, still wanted him to help her.

She had her own ideas.

Meryl was different from her.

She was pregnant now. If a snake bit her, she would lose her baby.

Moreover, Rachel, who had been frightened to death by those snakes that day, believed that Meryl would react violently.

Felix said meaningfully, “Don’t ask me to help you with such a trivial thing. Solve it yourself, okay?”

His face was in the semi-darkness. “If you want me to take action, it should be a big plan.”

Rachel was stunned for a few seconds. She inexplicably felt that Felix was up to something evil.

She subconsciously asked, “A big plan? What do you mean?”

Seeing that Rachel was fooled, Felix smiled slightly, “You have to cooperate with me.”

She somehow moved closer to him.

Hearing what he said, she widened her eyes in shock and gazed at him in disbelief. “You, you want to…”

Felix glanced at Rachel leisurely. “I am doing all this for your own good. If you are unwilling, forget it.”

She rolled her eyes and suddenly had another idea.

After she left, Felix fixed his eyes on her back, lost in thought.

He spat out the cigarette and asked disdainfully, “Why is such a superficial woman so confident to assume that I want to marry her and am interested in her?”

Being confident was great, but being blindly confident was stupid.

Philip, in the driver’s seat, heard the plan that Felix had just discussed with Rachel.

It was gradually getting dark. Meryl stayed in the ward to take care of Anne.

Dante felt ignored there. No matter what he said, Anne paid no attention to him.

He wanted to get an answer from her to prove that the baby was his, but despite his attempts, she made no reply.

He glanced down. After a while, Yancey came in from outside.

He was obviously surprised to see Dante in the ward.

Yancey walked over to Anne’s bedside and said gently, “I saw the nurse take the baby to the neonatal department. The doctor explained that the treatment would take about a week and that she could be discharged from the hospital with you if there were no other problems.”

Anne nodded. “Thank you. Go home and change your clothes now.”

Yancey’s white shirt was still stained with blood from the morning. As he had not had time to change, the color of the bloodstains deepened.

“I’ve packed my own clothes in the hospital bag so that I can stay here and look after you closely.”

Yancey took out the hospital bag from the suitcase and found a clean piece of clothing.

He turned to Anne and smiled, “How can I leave when you are in the hospital?”

Yancey’s words upset Dante.

He rushed forward and grabbed Yancey by the collar. “Stop acting. I already know that the baby is mine.”

Anne and Yancey had nothing to do with each other, and he was almost deceived by Yancey.

Dante asked, “How much did Anne pay you to act with her? I’ll give you double. Get out of here!”

Their eyes met, and Dante’s were bloodshot. Yancey’s collar was firmly grasped in his hand.

This was a matter between Dante and Anne. He only wished to resolve it privately with her and didn’t want anyone to come between them.

He wanted to drive Yancey away quickly.

Dante was aggressive, and Yancey was somewhat embarrassed.

But he remained calm. Dante’s rage didn’t frighten him.

“Mr. Paltrow, don’t forget that you and Anne have divorced. You are strangers now. Who do you think you are to ask me to get out?”

Dante sneered, “Because I’m the baby’s father!”
