Chapter 559 Doubts

At that moment, Chandler finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But the guilt did not ease much. After all, Andy was murdered when they were together.

“Are you sure Andy is dead? Where is his body?”

Chandler still had a glimmer of hope.

The policeman replied in a businesslike manner, “It is not convenient for me to reveal too much about the case. I can only tell you that his body has not been found yet.”

Sensing his disappointment, the policeman patted Chandler on the shoulder and said, “Don’t think too much. This matter is over for you. The rest is our responsibility. Let’s go, and I will take you home now.”

In the car, he heard two policemen talking about the police academy.

Chandler made up his mind to go to a police academy, become a policeman, and bring those bad guys to justice in the future.

Over the past decade, he had received training and completed tasks assigned by the organization. It was tiring yet fulfilling.

It was not until more than a year ago that Dylan took him back into the Aniston family.

After hearing what Chandler had said, Meryl hugged him, feeling sorry for him.

She felt his body trembling. Recalling the past obviously depressed him.

Meryl seemed to understand a little bit why he took such good care of Rachel.

It was because he still had doubts about Andy’s death.

Chandler couldn’t be completely sure that he hadn’t killed Andy himself.

He was tormented mentally and split into two selves.

One of them always told him that he was the one who had taken Andy’s life. Chandler was very tolerant of Rachel because he had just transferred his guilt towards Andy to her.

After hearing what happened, Meryl suddenly asked, “Do you think Andy is not dead at all?”

Despite the fact that the scene was covered with Andy’s blood, something always seemed strange to her.

A living person just disappeared after Chandler fell into a coma. Apart from the bloodstains at the scene, there was actually no other evidence to prove that Andy was dead.

Meryl asked, “Where is Andy’s body? Haven’t the drug lords been arrested? Didn’t they confess where his body was hidden?”

Chandler shook his head slightly. “The ones who were caught were just the minions who followed orders. The real drug lord got the news in advance and fled. Those who stayed there were all abandoned.”

Criminal gangs like theirs had a severe class stratification, with people at the lower levels unable to access information from those at the top.

Meryl understood that if Andy were buried on a hill, it would be difficult to find him.

So many years had passed since the kidnap. His body must have turned into a pile of bones long ago.

Chandler and Meryl went home together. He was about to drive away from the hospital when Dante suddenly appeared from somewhere.

At the sight of him, Chandler quickly stepped on the brakes.

He rolled down the window and scolded, “Why are you sneaking around?”

If the car hadn’t been moving slowly at the start, Dante’s reckless behavior would have probably caused him to crash.

His eyes were bloodshot, and the clothes on his chest were all wet. He was holding a wine bottle.

It was evident that Dante was in a bad mood after being driven away by Anne, so he bought some drinks at a convenience store near the hospital to drown his sorrows.

As the car stopped, he immediately rushed to the front passenger seat and knocked on the window.

“Meryl, you and Anne are friends. Tell me, how can I get her to come back to me?

“She gave birth to my child. She actually loves me, right? Otherwise, why would she bear me a child?”
