My father, seeing how much I’d suffered with this pregnancy, agreed without hesitation. He immediately arranged for the most experienced doctors to perform the procedure. I also told him to stop protecting the Winters family and withdraw his business support. Of course, I didn’t tell him about Azazel arranging my kidnapping and assault. With my father’s temperament and protectiveness, he would have flayed Azazel alive. That scoundrel wasn’t worth my father taking such a risk. I would make Azazel pay in other ways.

After the abortion, I spent a month recovering. Without the constant nausea and injections, my health improved dramatically. I gained weight and strength. Seeing me healthier, my father was overjoyed. When he heard I’d finally moved on from Azazel, he eagerly began arranging blind dates, saying he wanted to find a handsome, obedient man to marry into our family for me.

I was reluctant—I had no interest in finding another man—but I couldn’t dissuade my father. Word spread quickly. Every day, countless men lined up outside our home, hoping for an interview to marry into our family.

Meanwhile, without my father’s support, the Winters family faced mounting problems. After a month, they finally couldn’t bear it anymore and came to find me, with Azazel in tow. When they arrived at our estate, they encountered the lineup of prospective husbands. Azazel looked at the crowd in confusion. “Who are all these people?”

He tried to move forward but couldn’t get through the crowd. When he attempted to push through, a man impatiently grabbed him. “Hey, are you trying to marry into the Parker family too? You have to wait in line. We have rules here—no cutting in line, no matter who you are.”

Richard, Christine, and Azazel froze in shock. “Marry into what family?” Azazel asked, bewildered. “Which Miss Parker?”

The man looked at him as if he were an idiot. “Which Miss Parker? Mr. Parker only has one daughter! Sylvia Parker, of course! Her husband died recently, and she’s single now. A girl like her—naturally men are lining up! See all those guys ahead? They’re all here for the same reason.”

Azazel’s expression soured instantly. “Are you all insane?” he exclaimed in disbelief. “Sylvia is still carrying her late husband’s child! She’s devoted to him and would never look at another man. You should all go home.”
