Chapter 34: Terrible Photography Skills

Adrian left, and the courtyard returned to its peaceful state. Cheyenne looked at her grandfather, who was deep in thought, and curiously asked, "Grandfather, are you still thinking about why Granduncle came?"

"Yes," he replied. "My intuition tells me it's not that simple, though he seemed sincere when asking for help."

"In that case, why did you agree to see Master Iker?" Cheyenne asked.

Her grandfather had already deciphered half of the medical secrets book; he didn't need her Granduncle's sudden kindness. "I've met Iker," he said. "He's a good boy. It's a shame he's disabled."

Cheyenne was surprised. When had her grandfather met the young master of the Todd family? Before she could recover from her shock, Adrian gave her a challenging task.

"Cheyenne, I'm afraid you'll have to treat him," he said.

"Huh?" Cheyenne looked dumbfounded. Layne patted her head. "Right now, in the Edwards family, you're the most suitable person. You've almost mastered our medical secrets; you're one step from enlightenment. Maybe this house call will do it," Layne explained.

Cheyenne had studied medicine since childhood and possessed exceptional talent. Besides her grandfather and two elders, no one knew that at eighteen, she had achieved great success. However, since her family name wasn't Edwards, she hadn't yet inherited the family headship. Moreover, Cheyenne was naturally lazy and only acted under pressure. Her medical skills had stagnated for three years. She'd been trying to break through, but without success. She desperately wanted to heal Benson's eyes, a feat only possible with a breakthrough. Three years had passed, but she still hadn't gathered all the necessary ingredients.

After considering it, Cheyenne agreed to her grandfather's request. She could simply wear a mask during the house call. She stayed in Shedale for two days before driving her pink Lamborghini back to Akloit. Without the antiques, the villa seemed simpler. Malaya had bought several fake antiques to improve its appearance, placing them in the living room. Cheyenne laughed; they were third-rate items worth only a few thousand dollars at most and would be easily recognized as fakes. However, she didn't plan on exposing Malaya's deception.

"Cheyenne, you're back! Have you eaten?" Malaya, sitting on the sofa knitting a sweater in a white dress and black high heels, smiled and softly asked.

"Thank you, Malaya, I've eaten. If there's nothing else, I'll go upstairs to rest," Cheyenne said, starting towards the stairs.

"Stop!" George shouted.

She paused and turned to her father, lazily asking, "Is there something else you need, Father?"

He slammed a newspaper onto the coffee table, his face filled with anger. Cheyenne, however, wasn't intimidated. She smiled playfully. "I don't know what I did. Is it worth this excitement?"

Her nonchalance only angered him further. "Take a look! What is this in the newspaper?" he demanded.

"Newspaper?" Cheyenne heard the key word, a faint sarcastic smile playing on her lips. She gracefully walked over in her seven-centimeter heels and picked up the newspaper. Seeing the headline, she chuckled. It wasn't major news, but rather sensationalized, trivial reports. The headline read: "Lawrence Family Heiress Dates Former Genius!" Below, speculation about her divorce from Kelvin—Cheyenne Cheats on Kelvin—was printed. A large photo showed her speaking with Mr. James, Benson at her side. Her hand was affectionately on Benson's arm.

"The photography skills are terrible; they didn't capture Benson's gentlemanly manner at all," she commented. "And I look so fat. I was standing sideways; a stunning photo could have been taken, but it ended up looking ordinary."
