Chapter 35: Getting Angry

George was about to be driven crazy. Was the issue her appearance, or something more? Didn't he see the detailed reports? The Lawrence family's gold-digging daughter, who'd married Kelvin and taken 100 million from the Foley family, immediately fawned over the former genius, Benson, after her divorce. Furthermore, the report stated she was fickle and had numerous sexual relationships during high school.

Malaya approached, swaying her hips, and patted George's shoulder. "Hey, honey, don't be anxious. I believe Cheyenne isn't that kind of person. The newspaper might be mistaken."

George glared at Cheyenne, even angrier. "Absolutely not! Look at this picture!"

Cheyenne chuckled, playing the role of "virtuous wife and loving mother." "Technology's advanced. Maybe it's photoshopped?" She added, "Even if Cheyenne had many friends during high school, she never neglected her studies."

Malaya's sarcasm wasn't lost on George. Did she mean I had multiple boyfriends? Never neglecting studies… Everyone knew I was the most notorious girl in high school! Fighting, skipping class, being late, sleeping during exams—my grades were always second-to-last. But I still went to college, much to the surprise of those who assumed it was because of my family's wealth. They didn't know about my hidden abilities.

George's displeasure grew. Sean, just home, whistled at Cheyenne. "A classmate even asked if the woman in the news was my sister!" he exclaimed, adopting a hooliganish attitude. "I denied it, of course. Said she was a distant cousin—to save face."

His exaggerated expression made him look arrogant. Cheyenne scoffed, unimpressed by his immaturity. "Focus on yourself. At least I went to college. Our family will likely have to sponsor yours!"

He was in no position to mock her; she'd been second-to-last in high school, while he'd been last. Undeterred, he retorted loudly, "I have another year. Who says I can't pass? You're just at a second-tier college. What's to be proud of? My Thalia's at a top university!"

Nora, with excellent grades, was the Lawrence family's pride. Cheyenne countered, "That's Nora, not you. I heard you're bossed around by your girlfriend, skip class to play games at internet cafes, and got criticized by the dean." She added sarcastically, "Compared to you, I'm doing pretty well. You're a true school celebrity! I admire you!"

Their argument escalated. George finally shouted, "Enough! Both of you upstairs!" They were a disgrace to the Lawrence family.

The final two lines ("sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality." and "Search the FindNovel.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.") are clearly advertising and should be removed entirely.
