Chapter 166

Elvira visited Olivia at night and had dinner with her. The wounds on Olivia’s face had already scabbed over, looking especially noticeable against her fair skin. Elvira’s heart ached at the sight. Fortunately, they were superficial injuries; after the scabs fell off, Olivia could recover with some scar removal ointment.

Olivia still looked listless. The kidnapping had severely traumatized her. Coupled with the loss of her baby, her recovery would take considerable time.

Zach, knowing Elvira had come to Samson’s place, also joined them. The four of them dined together. Samson offered to help Olivia with her food, but she pushed it onto the table, showing no appreciation for his gesture.

The thing she regretted most was marrying Samson. If not for him, her first baby wouldn't have died such an innocent death.

Samson felt terrible, but since the incident had already occurred, he could only try his best to find a way to remedy the situation. There was no other way.

After dinner, Elvira accompanied Olivia back to her room. Looking at her, Elvira asked, “What are your plans?”

“I want a divorce,” Olivia stated, her voice laced with the pain of her decision, but firm in her resolve.

Elvira was silent for a moment before saying, “No matter what decision you make, I will support you. The most important thing for you now is to recuperate. Don’t think too much about it for the time being. You have to wait until you’ve completely recovered before you think about the divorce.”

Olivia nodded.

After Elvira and Zach returned home, Zach hugged and kissed Elvira repeatedly, his grip exceptionally tight. He bathed her, blow-dried her hair, and carried her back to bed, holding her close, reluctant to let go.

Elvira knew Zach was frightened by what happened to Olivia. She smiled and comforted him, “It’s okay. I’ll protect myself.”

Zach said, “Elvira, if…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Elvira raised her hand and pressed her fingers to his lips. “Stop worrying about the future. We can’t scare ourselves just because of something that hasn’t happened yet. How are we going to live well while worrying like this?”

Zach still felt uncomfortable. He kissed her fiercely and tried to pull her down. Just as they were about to kiss, his phone rang.

He initially wanted to ignore it, but the caller seemed persistent. Zach could only look apologetically at Elvira, who felt aroused as he answered the call. Elvira squirmed in discomfort but waited patiently.

Zach’s expression shifted slightly when he answered. “Alright, I understand. I’ll be right there.”

Zach looked at Elvira guiltily. “I’m sorry, babe. Carmen’s condition worsened. I have to go over and check on her.”

Chapter 100

Elvira sat up and stroked her long hair. “Go ahead. I’m fine.”

She didn’t even know how many times Zach had been called to the hospital in the middle of the night by Carmen. Elvira knew Carmen did it on purpose, but she wouldn’t stop Zach. She didn’t want to make things difficult for him. It was enough for Elvira to know that he loved her.

Zach dressed and kissed Elvira before leaving.

Elvira lay on the bed, unable to sleep. She took out her phone to attend to some work matters. She contacted an entertainment reporter and paid for a news piece.

Elvira knew that if she wanted to provoke Morris, she needed help, and she had to find the right person.

The other party quickly replied, sending Elvira an address, saying Vivian would be at a spa hotel tomorrow.

Elvira went to sleep after receiving the news. Zach returned after midnight. Elvira knew he was back. She woke briefly and then fell asleep again. With her in his arms, Zach closed his eyes.

The next day, Zach made breakfast. They chatted as they ate.

“I’ll send you to the office later,” Zach said, holding Elvira’s hand.

“No, thanks. I have something to deal with today. I’ll drive myself,” Elvira smiled at him.

Zach was a little downcast and didn’t say anything. He still wanted to spend more time with her.

Elvira didn’t realize he felt that way. She knew Zach was quite needy, but she hadn't expected him to be so needy. She felt they had a long life ahead of them.

Zach knew Elvira was career-minded, so he remained silent. No matter what she wanted to do, he would fully support her.

Elvira drove to the spa hotel the entertainment reporter had mentioned. After searching for a while, she found Vivian. Vivian had been famous for a time but had since retired and hadn't appeared in public for a long time.

Elvira bribed the service staff to deliver food to Vivian’s room. When Elvira entered, Vivian stuffed a large handful of medicine into her mouth and washed it down with water.

“Just put the food down. You can leave,” Vivian said indifferently.

Elvira didn’t move. She knew Vivian was alone; the man who had been keeping her had left.

“Ms. Scott, I’m here for you,” Elvira said gently.

Vivian frowned and turned to look at her. Elvira’s beauty was striking, unforgettable at a glance. Vivian looked at her warily. “I don’t know you! What do you want?”

“Ms. Scott, I have no ill intentions. I came to look for you because I hope you can help Morris.” Elvira revealed her purpose. She believed honesty would gain trust.

Vivian was stunned to hear Morris’s name. She asked, “Who are you to him?”

“I actually have nothing to do with him. I just wanted to ask him to film a movie, but he refused.” Elvira told Vivian the truth about her identity.

Vivian’s expression darkened. “Just leave. He won’t listen to me.”

“He will.” Elvira looked at her firmly.

“Do you think I haven’t tried? I’ve begged him to pull himself together and stop being depressed, but he wouldn’t listen to me.” Vivian thought of the young man and felt a sharp pain in her chest.

She and Morris had joined the company at the same time. They had a good impression of each other, but company rules prevented them from expressing their feelings. Later, their striking good looks quickly set them apart among the new hires. Just as they thought things were going well, a terrible thing happened to them.

Vivian didn’t dare recall that period. It was pure living hell. She felt like a walking corpse, her physical condition poor, requiring copious amounts of medication to maintain her health.

Elvira said, “That’s because you didn’t use the right method. Vivian, I can help him return to the public eye and make him a top celebrity. Are you willing to help him?”

Elvira had already learned about what happened to the unfortunate couple. She felt sorry and heartbroken for them, especially for Vivian, another woman who had suffered.
