Chapter 167

Vivian frowned as she looked at Elvira. The beautiful, thin woman stood quietly, but she wasn't as weak as ordinary women. She possessed a toughness that inspired involuntary belief.

“I’ve tried. It won’t work,” Vivian muttered to herself.

Elvira walked toward Vivian and stood in front of her. She held Vivian's hand firmly and said, “I told you that you used the right method. Listen to me. I promise to get Morris motivated and will also let you leave that demon!”

Elvira, beautiful and captivating, made people feel at ease and happy. Vivian had refused to let anyone in or trust anyone anymore. However, a voice in her heart clamored to believe Elvira. The voice said, “She won’t lie to you. You already lost everything. What can she get from you?”

Vivian looked at Elvira in silence. Elvira looked at her firmly. After a full three minutes, Vivian said, “What can I do to help him?”

Elvira looked at the beautiful, gentle woman in front of her, her heart aching. Vivian, such a kind and beautiful girl, was clearly in a dire situation, yet she still only wanted to help Morris.

When a girl is too beautiful and lacks the ability or background to protect herself, she becomes a target—and that's what happened to Vivian.

“Just listen to me,” Elvira said, gently tidying Vivian’s messy long hair.

Vivian nodded. “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

Elvira looked at her firmly and promised, “Protect yourself well. I will make that bastard who hurt you pay the price he deserves!”

After Elvira met Vivian, her mood was heavy. She had always known the entertainment industry was complicated, but the results of her investigation were utterly disgusting.

Vivian was clearly a girl with a bright future, but because she was too beautiful, some rich men took a fancy to her and used her for money. If Vivian were a weaker girl, she probably wouldn't have survived. Elvira supposed Vivian must have survived because she was still thinking about Morris. However, Vivian was too weak and didn't know how to help him.

Elvira was a little distracted, lost in thought, when the car ahead suddenly braked. Elvira didn't react in time and rear-ended the car.

She was shocked and quickly unbuckled her seatbelt to get out and check the damage. The other driver also got out. Seeing his luxury car smashed, he was obviously very angry, but his upbringing prevented him from cursing at Elvira.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose. I’ll pay for all your repair fees,” Elvira quickly apologized.

Seeing Elvira’s sincere apology, the driver felt embarrassed. Ashamed of his earlier attitude, he waved his hand and said, “It’s my fault. There was a kitten ahead just now, so I hit the brakes suddenly.”

“I’ll take full responsibility. Leave your contact information; I’ll transfer the money when the car is repaired,” Elvira said, taking out her phone to get the driver's contact information.

While they dealt with the accident, a fashionable and beautiful woman in the other car watched with interest. She pushed open the car door and got out. The driver hurried over and bowed respectfully, “Madam, I’ll settle it immediately. I just can’t drive this car now; I have to send it to be repaired.”

Elvira would find a way to make amends. She said to the woman, who was Skylar, “I’m sorry, I was distracted just now. If you don’t mind, I’ll give you a ride.” Elvira felt it was the least she could do, given the damage to Skylar's car.

“Won’t it hold you up? It would be great if you could give me a ride,” Skylar smiled kindly.

“It won’t. Please get in the car,” Elvira opened the back door and invited Skylar in.

“Madam, this won’t do,” the driver said, suddenly vigilant. He wondered, ‘What happened is too coincidental. We just returned to the country when this woman hit our car. Now she wants to give Madam a ride. This must be premeditated!’

“It’s fine. I know her. Go get the car fixed,” Skylar waved her hand and smiled as she got into Elvira’s car.

When the driver saw that Skylar said she knew Elvira, he hesitated no longer. He knew Skylar wouldn't say things randomly; since she said she knew Elvira, she definitely did.

After the incident was resolved, Elvira drove Skylar. She asked the woman where she was going, and the woman gave the name of a shopping mall. Elvira drove toward her destination, determined to stay focused.

“What’s your name?” Skylar asked with a smile.

“My name is Elvira Willis. Miss, you can just call me Elvira,” Elvira replied politely.

“Don’t call me Miss. Call me Ma’am,” Skylar corrected her.

Elvira said, “But I think you’re only in your thirties, right?”

No woman likes to be called young. Skylar smiled and covered her mouth. “I’m already fifty years old, so you should call me Ma’am.”

Looking at Skylar’s young face, Elvira didn’t feel like calling her Ma’am, but out of respect, she obeyed. The more Skylar looked at Elvira’s obedient and beautiful appearance, the more she liked her.

When they arrived at the mall, Skylar insisted on Elvira accompanying her. She said she had just returned home and wasn’t familiar with the country. She asked Elvira to accompany her, without mentioning payment for the car repair.

Elvira wasn’t idle; she wanted to refuse, but the pretty woman’s soft eyes made her unable to say no. She began shopping with Skylar. Elvira didn’t expect to hit it off so well with someone she’d just met by chance. They had similar tastes, and enjoyed shopping together.

At noon, Skylar insisted they eat together. The two went to a grill room.

Zach called Elvira and asked what she was doing. Elvira told him truthfully she was having dinner with a beautiful woman.

When Zach heard it was a stranger Elvira had just met, he worried about her. No matter how Elvira explained, it was useless. He asked for the address and wanted to rush over, also telling Elvira not to drink or eat anything the woman gave her.

Elvira felt helpless. She wasn’t a child anymore and could tell good from bad. She wouldn’t be easily tricked.

By the time Elvira returned, Skylar had already started eating. She didn’t put on airs and ate contentedly, regardless of her high-end coat.

“It’s still the familiar taste. I really couldn’t help but eat it first. Elvira, take your seat now and eat with me,” Skylar called out to Elvira.

Elvira sat down. She was also quite hungry, and coupled with the pleasant company, she ate freely. They both ate heartily.

When Zach arrived, he first checked if Elvira was alright. Elvira was a little embarrassed by him. After confirming Elvira was fine, he turned and looked at the beautiful woman Elvira mentioned. He was completely stunned. He froze, wondering, ‘How could it be her?’
