Chapter 200
“So, you know you’re her biological mother. How could you do such a thing to your biological daughter? If it happens again, have you ever thought about how much damage it would do to her?” Liam questioned helplessly.
“I just let her hug a strange man and take some photos. What harm can it do? She’s making a mountain out of a molehill. I’ll call her now and warn her not to blame me for being heartless if she messes around again,” Rowena immediately took out her phone and attempted to call Elvira.
Recently, Elvira had released her from her blocked contacts list, and the call should have gone through. But when she called, it said the line was busy. She tried again, but the result was the same. She found this strange, as calls had previously connected.
“After what you’ve done, you still expect her to answer your call? You’re ridiculous,” Liam said, unwilling to continue the pointless conversation with Rowena.
Now, he finally understood that there were consequences in this world. If a person didn't follow the rules—like Rowena loving her stepdaughter more than her biological daughter—they would face repercussions.
He wanted to see Elvira in person and apologize. But the moment he stood up, his vision went dark, and he fainted.
Rowena and Sandy were shocked. They rushed to his side, summoned a servant and driver, and sent Liam to the hospital.
Liam had fainted from anger. The doctor said he had a premonition of a cerebral hemorrhage. He couldn’t be agitated again; otherwise, he might not be so lucky next time.
While waiting for Liam to wake up, Rowena fainted from anxiety. Sandy didn't even look at Rowena as they carried her away; her cold expression made it seem as if Rowena were a stranger. She only cared about Liam, her family. Only an idiot like Rowena would prioritize a stranger over someone so close.
When Rowena returned, she held a list in her hand, her face filled with surprise and disbelief. When Liam saw her, his expression wasn't good, but he still dutifully asked, “How are you? What did the doctor say?”
Sandy also looked at her calmly, awaiting the results.
“Liam, Sandy, I… I’m pregnant. It’s been almost three months,” Rowena announced happily.
When Liam heard this, he nearly spat out the water his daughter was feeding him. He looked stunned, while Sandy frowned. ‘Pregnant?’ Her gaze swept across Rowena’s belly, a flash of disgust crossing her eyes.
“You? Pregnant? You’re fifty this year. If you’re pregnant, will it be safe for the child?” Liam had never planned to have another child. He felt two children were enough; moreover, he wasn’t young and didn’t desire to raise another.
“The doctor said the child is very healthy. As long as I’m careful, it will be fine. Liam, we finally have our child. I’m so happy,” Rowena’s excitement was evident. She rushed over and hugged the semi-reclining Liam.
Liam had originally intended to discuss an abortion with her. He didn’t want another child, but seeing her excitement, he couldn’t bring himself to mention it. ‘After all, this woman is quite good to me and treats my children as her own. If she’s willing to have a child, so be it,’ Liam thought.

He helplessly raised his hand and touched Rowena’s head. He didn’t mention abortion again.
Sandy was pushed aside. Her eyes were full of unconcealed anger and disdain, but it quickly vanished. She turned and put the bowl aside.
Elvira wasn’t surprised to receive a call from Liam. ‘This man is more reasonable than the women of the Miles family,’ she thought.
She answered the phone. “Hello, Mr. Miles. What can I do for you?”
Since she had cut ties with Rowena, she felt it more appropriate to address him formally as Mr. Miles rather than by his first name.
Liam was also stunned by her formality. He said, “Elvira, I already know what your mother did. I want to bring her and Sandy to apologize to you. When is it convenient for you?”
“Rowena and I have already severed our mother-daughter relationship. From now on, I no longer have anything to do with her, let alone the Miles family. There’s no need for us to meet in the future. If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up,” Elvira stated clearly.
When Liam heard her words, his blood boiled again. ‘Cut ties? Why didn’t Rowena tell me?’
“Elvira, your mother has gone too far this time. Because of this, I’m so angry that I ended up in the hospital. I feel very sorry. I also hope you can give us a chance to apologize. I’ll discipline your mother in the future and not let her do such a ridiculous thing again,” Liam said hastily.
Elvira hesitated and asked, “Is there something you haven’t told me? If not, I don’t want to waste my time.”
Liam looked ashamed. He could only tell her that Zach had banned his company.
“Elvira, I know that we’ve let you down this time. I’m willing to bring them to apologize to you. The company is my life’s work. Please, please let me go. I’m so sorry…” Liam couldn’t continue; his voice was choked.
Elvira frowned. After considering it, she said, “There’s no need to apologize. I hope the Miles family will not appear in front of me again. Even if we happen to meet, you can pretend you don’t know me. If you can do that, I’ll tell Zach about your company.”
“Elvira, this…” Liam felt his heart turn cold. He could feel Elvira’s anger.
“If you can’t do it, I won’t interfere with what my husband wants to do.” Elvira’s tone was so cold it felt like frost.
“I promise you, I’ll keep them under check. Elvira, thank you.” Liam sighed helplessly. He knew there was no turning back. He only hoped Rowena and Sandy wouldn’t be foolish enough to provoke Elvira and Zach again.
After ending the call, Liam sternly warned Rowena and Sandy not to seek out Elvira again, let alone cause her trouble. If anyone disobeyed, they would be banished from the Miles family. He meant it.
Rowena and Sandy were still somewhat afraid of Liam. They knew he was firm and could do as he said, so they could only agree.
Only then did Liam feel at ease.
When Elvira had lunch with Zach, she told him about the Miles family and asked him to let them off for now.
Chapter 200
“Just leave the Miles family 20% of the original business.” Elvira naturally wouldn’t let bygones be bygones. She wouldn’t allow the Miles family to plot against her and live well as if nothing had happened. The Miles family had to pay the price.
