Chapter 293

Honey knew how to fly a plane, and she appeared to be doing well. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief upon witnessing her skillful flying. Archer immediately contacted the ground crew to confirm the landing. The ground crew heaved a sigh of relief knowing the passengers were safe. A hijacking was a significant event; if the plane had crashed, the impact on the world would have been devastating.

Elvira had been invited by Honey to sit beside her. Without Elvira, Honey lacked confidence. Only with Elvira beside her did she feel at ease and capable of flying the plane.

After Zach learned the situation was under control, he contacted Elvira. He clutched his chest and frowned, feeling a sharp pain. “Hello, Elvira. Are you safe?”

“I’m safe now. Don’t worry. Are you feeling unwell?” Elvira sensed something was wrong with his voice.

“No, I’m just too happy to know you’re safe. Elvira, see you later,” Zach said, enduring the chest pain.

“Alright, see you later.” After Elvira hung up, her heart pounded rapidly. She felt uneasy, as if something bad was about to happen.

Cole saw that she didn't look well and asked worriedly and guiltily, “How are you? Do you want a doctor to come and take a look?” To ensure Elvira's safety, he'd brought a doctor. He feared she might experience discomfort during the flight.

“It’s nothing. I’m just a little scared,” Elvira replied, rejecting his concern.

When Cole saw how indifferent she was, he felt terrible. He knew his actions had angered her, but he couldn't bear to see her injured because of Zach. This wasn't impulsive; he’d planned this for a long time.

Honey, so excited about flying such a large plane, hadn't noticed the abnormality in the cockpit. She was still happily sharing the excitement with Elvira.

The plane landed safely. The passengers were so relieved they wept openly. Everyone was taken away: the injured by ambulance, the dead to the funeral home, and the robber's body, as well. The robber who killed his accomplice was also dead, seriously injured from their fight.

This made investigating the hijacking more difficult. However, Cole and the others were fortunate to have suffered no greater losses.

Archer, observing the government officials, had an idea. He quickly messaged his father, asking him to publicize Cole's role in saving everyone. He aimed to build Cole’s reputation and lay the groundwork for future power grabs.

After Elvira arrived at the hotel, she immediately called Zach, asking his whereabouts. His plane was still over the sea, about an hour away. He told her to wait for him at the hotel.

Elvira waited obediently. Honey stayed with her, intending to share her room that night.

After Cole perfunctorily dealt with the officials, he sought out Elvira. He knew he couldn't keep her after this. His heart was filled with pain and regret.

Chapter 293 (Continued)

Archer, meanwhile, no longer cared about Elvira's location. As long as Cole left Jersten, he wouldn't be able to return. Elvira let him in. Honey immediately returned to her room; she was a little afraid of Cole.

“Zach will arrive in an hour. I will return to Jersten with him then. What are your plans next?” Elvira asked upon entering.

Cole remained silent after following her inside.

“Since you’ve regained your memory, can you tell me who you are? What’s your identity?” Elvira already suspected his identity was extraordinary, but since he hadn't volunteered the information, she hadn't asked.

“Can’t you stay?” Cole’s voice was dry and weak, perhaps aware his request was unrealistic.

She had a family and husband in Jersten. The Gilbert family had been very kind to her; she considered them family. Because Elvira had been neglected and abused as a child, she longed for genuine kinship. The Gilberts provided that, so she was unwilling to leave.

“I won’t stay because Zach isn’t here and my family isn’t here. I just want to be with them,” Elvira replied firmly.

When Cole heard this, tears welled up; he knew he was truly losing her. Elvira was moved for a moment but quickly composed herself. She loved Zach deeply and cherished his family. She was content with her life and didn't want to change it. Moreover, she was pregnant, and she wanted her baby born and raised in a loving family, not the harsh environment of her childhood.

Elvira’s heart ached as she watched Cole cry. He had been her companion for years; she had long considered him family.

After Cole had cried, he began to confess his background. He started from the moment he awoke from the fire.

Elvira frowned as she listened. She hadn't expected Cole’s life to be even worse than hers. He had been murdered by an evil stepmother who, after everyone believed him dead, took everything he owned. Furthermore, his stepmother was exceptionally deceptive. Before pushing him into the sea, he had never suspected her, long believing her to be his biological mother. Therefore, when she revealed her true nature, Cole was shocked and helpless. This time, he returned to reclaim his birthright.

After listening, Elvira said, “Cole, you earned all the money for the company. I will continue to develop the company and make money to support you.” Elvira knew seizing power required money; she would support him unconditionally.

Cole looked up at her, shocked. “Don’t you hate me?”

Elvira was amused. “Why should I hate you? If you have anything to say in the future, just tell me. I’ve long treated you as family. I’ll support you unconditionally in whatever you do.”
