Grace was instantly speechless. Zach smiled slightly, reached out to hug Elvira, and kissed her lips. He deliberately showed off his affection in front of Grace. “Wife loves me. You have a child, but your husband still doesn’t love you,” he said.

Grace was almost driven mad by her brother. Skylar called Louver, but he didn’t answer. Even when she went to look for him, she couldn’t find him. He only said he had something important to do and wouldn’t let them disturb him.

Skylar was extremely anxious. She suddenly remembered Louver had given her another number. He’d said to call it in an emergency. She was overcome with anxiety when she noticed something was wrong with Zach’s body. This reminded her of the number she’d forgotten.

She quickly found the number and called. The call was quickly answered. “Skylar, what’s wrong?”

Louver was conducting important research. When he heard his special ringtone, he immediately took off his gloves and answered. This was the first time Skylar had called him on that number. He knew it must be important.

“Louver, something’s wrong with my son. Where are you? Can you come and look at him?” Skylar asked anxiously.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be right there,” Louver immediately agreed. He took off his gloves and prepared to leave.

“Louver, the research is at a critical stage. If you leave now and someone else gets there first, our losses will be huge,” someone reminded him.

“It’s alright. I can afford it. You guys continue. I’ll come back after I’m done,” Louver said nonchalantly.

Everyone was speechless. Losing hundreds of millions of dollars was like losing a few dollars to Louver. They could only accept their fate and continue their work. However, without Louver, they wouldn't make any progress.

Louver arrived very quickly. Since learning Skylar would be staying there, he’d moved some of his belongings to Jersten to be closer to her.

Louver got Skylar into his car. She opened the door and saw a bouquet of flowers. Skylar asked in confusion, “Who did you buy these for?”

“You,” Louver said without hesitation.

“Why did you give me flowers?”

Skylar picked up the bouquet and fiddled with it. It seemed like she hadn’t received flowers in many years. After all, she was already so old.

Louver saw her puzzled expression and thought, ‘No wonder my friend said my way of pursuing her was too reserved.’ Hence, he said seriously, “I want to pursue you!”

“So it’s you…” Skylar paused, looking at him in disbelief. She asked, “What did you say?”

“I want to pursue you,” Louver replied seriously.

Skylar quickly threw the flowers away and said, “I refuse.”

“Why?” Louver asked with a frown.

“Do you know how old I am? Do you know how much older I am than you? I could even be your mother,” Skylar said, speechless.

“You’re only eighteen years older than me. I don’t care,” Louver said.

“I’m going through menopause. I can’t have children anymore,” Skylar offered her most realistic objection, attempting to end his fantasy.

“I don’t need children. After I die, I will donate all my money. I never thought of having descendants,” Louver said honestly. He’d already considered this. He could easily refute anything she said.

Skylar looked at him in shock. She hadn’t expected him to think so deeply about it. “That won’t do either. We’re not suitable for each other. If we go out, others will think we’re mother and son.”

“Do you have some misunderstanding about yourself? You look more like my sister now. How can you look like my mother!” Louver looked at her resentfully.

Skylar thought, “The main point is that we aren’t compatible, okay?”

“Think about it. Your children have already accepted it. I’m not in a hurry. Let’s go and see how your son is doing,” Louver said.

“What? My children? What do you mean?” Skylar was shocked and looked at him nervously.

“It seems like I’m a failure. The whole world knows I’m pursuing you, but you don’t.” Louver shook his head helplessly. Skylar thought, ‘I’ve always treated him like a kid. He’s no different from my son. Why does he like me?’

Skylar sat there in a daze. They arrived at Zach’s residence. After exchanging pleasantries, Louver began to examine Zach.

He carefully examined Zach’s body and said, “There are some internal injuries that need to be treated. I’ll prescribe some medicine for you. You’ll recover in no time.”

“Dr. Page, please check my wife too. She’s pregnant,” Zach said, gently looking at Elvira.

Elvira was stunned for a moment. She hadn’t expected Zach to ask Louver to check on her. She hadn’t felt any discomfort. Ever since they reunited, he’d been asking her to go for a checkup.
