Listen to this chapter:

Celeste held her phone, silently waiting. After a few moments, a message popped up on her screen. Adrian had replied to her message. It read, “I’m available. Are you going to take me to dinner?”

She momentarily froze when she read the message. It seemed that he could guess her thoughts through the screen. She found it amazing. She quickly typed out her response and hit send.

Adrian had just stepped out of a meeting when his phone vibrated. He gently flicked his thumb over the screen and saw Celeste’s message. “Didn’t we agree yesterday to have dinner with Eloise soon to formalize things? Well, why not do it tonight?” A faint, hardly noticeable smile crept onto his face.

“Mr. Wrenford, the project leader from The Science and Technology Institution, wants to have dinner with you tonight,” Joshua reported, holding a report in his hand while staring at Adrian’s back.

“Push it to tomorrow,” Adrian cut him off before he could finish.

“But you already agreed to this a few days ago,” Joshua was perplexed. “Are you heading back to have dinner with Mr. Wrenford Senior?”

“Do you think he’s the only person I have dinner with?”

“No. It’s just that whenever you cancel appointments, it’s because you’re headed back to the Wrenford residence.” Joshua watched him type on his phone, his interest growing. “Mr. Wrenford, are you in love?”

Upon hearing this, Adrian’s eyelids fluttered slightly, and he looked up. “What made you think that?”

“Your reaction suggests so…” Joshua instantly pointed to his phone.

Adrian glanced at him before swiftly typing out a response to Celeste. “Pick a place and send me the location.”

He slid his phone into his pocket, and a cold sharpness flashed in his gaze. “If you’ve got nothing better to do, find Shelley Davidson for me. Her phone has been off for days. What’s going on with her?”

Chapter 77

“I honestly don’t know what to do about this, Mr. Wrenford. I can’t possibly get a hacker to find her, right?”

“I don’t care what method you use. Just find her quickly!”

“I understand, Mr. Wrenford.” With that, Adrian marched off.

Meanwhile, Joshua felt like his head was about to explode trying to figure out Shelley’s identity. She had turned off her phone for days. Does she even care about her business?

That evening, when Celeste went to pick up Eloise, she bumped into Lucy and Lucian. Lucian instantly spotted them. A flood of jealousy washed over him when his gaze fell on Celeste, clutching Eloise’s hand. He yelled, “Mom!”

Celeste turned around and paused when she saw them standing behind her. Eloise also stopped. When she met Lucian’s gaze, she automatically tightened her grip on Celeste’s hand.

Lucian asked, “Why are you picking her up again? Why didn’t Great-Uncle Adrian pick her?” Lucian appeared displeased, and his gaze toward Eloise remained hostile.

When Celeste didn’t answer, Eloise responded carefully, “He didn’t have time…”

“He doesn’t have time, so my mother has to come pick you up? She never wants to pick me up, but she comes to get you every day!”

Eloise instantly hid behind Celeste after noticing the jealousy on his face. Celeste’s expression suddenly became frigid. “Lucian, be gentle when you speak to Eloise. She’s timid.”
