Chapter 134

โ€œNo fucking way,โ€ one guy called out. I hid my smile behind my coffee cup.

Gamma Charles pushed up from the desk. โ€œAmy, while I can understand that what I said might have appeared dismissive, lying about rank is prohibited here.โ€

โ€œI understand, Gamma Charles.โ€ I placed my cup down and leaned back in my seat. Caleb, the poor man, was floundering. His mouth was opening and shutting without sound.

โ€œSo, what is your actual rank?โ€ An unranked man, Adrian, asked me, bewildered.

I just raised my eyebrows and pursed my lips. โ€œAlpha.โ€

โ€œYou have got to be shitting me.โ€ Another man called out. โ€œMost Lunas are betas or gammas that mated an alpha and ranked up. But natural female alphas are rare. Like, super rare. A natural female alpha is basically unheard of.โ€

โ€œNow, now,โ€ the gamma raised his hands. โ€œAmy, I have to urge you to reconsider your answer. If you continue to insist that you are an alpha, then I will either have to command you to tell the truth or call the dean.โ€

โ€œOkay.โ€ I just nodded. โ€œEither works for me.โ€

โ€œListen here, bitch,โ€ one gamma stood to his feet and rushed over to where I was sitting. โ€œYou are making a mockery of this class by fucking lying to us,โ€ he snarled as he leaned down into my face. โ€œWe all went through our rank as requested. Why are you fucking lying?โ€

I just stared up at him. โ€œIโ€™m not.โ€ My answer was devoid of the previous warmth. That went out the window when he called me a bitch.

Nix and Megan bristled at the term. He was equating us to the like of a female dog, and we were wolves. He grabbed my arm and squeezed. โ€œTell us your fucking rank, or I will make you.โ€

โ€œHow?โ€ My voice dropped low.

He reeled back, almost letting me go. โ€œHow?โ€

โ€œYes.โ€ I slowly stood. โ€œHow are you going to make me tell you my rank?โ€ I bared my teeth, my last attempt at being nice.

Anger flashed in his eyes as they shifted, and I felt his weak aura lap at my toes. โ€œTell me your rank, mutt.โ€ I could see the unranked wolves around the room start to show their bellies.

โ€œIf I were you, Gamma, Iโ€™d learn to better focus my aura, so that you donโ€™t affect the lower-ranked wolves in here as you try to command me to do something.โ€ He took a step back, dropping my arm and retreating.

โ€œYou donโ€™t feel his command?โ€ one of the unranked men asked softly.

โ€œI do.โ€ I stared the man down. โ€œItโ€™s like a soft little tickle on my toes.โ€ I took a step as he stumbled away. โ€œBut I will tell you the same thing I told a girl earlier. If you touch me again without my permission, Iโ€™ll kill you.โ€ I let my eyes flash and fangs descend, losing a slight grip on my control.

Gamma Charles walked over to me. โ€œThatโ€™s enough, young lady.โ€ I felt his command wash over me like a gentle river on my calves. โ€œSit down while I call the dean.โ€ He turned and walked back to his desk, but I wasnโ€™t done.

โ€œOr what?โ€ I put my fist under my chin as he whirled on me.

โ€œMy commandโ€ฆโ€

โ€œAs gentle as a babbling brook.โ€ I smiled with my fangs, and the unranked wolves turned away. Caleb got to his feet, determination and arrogance on his face. I slowly turned to face him and tsked. โ€œAnd here I thought we were going to be friends, Caleb.โ€

โ€œOh, we still can be.โ€ He smiled at me. โ€œOr more.โ€ He waggled his eyebrows at me and cracked open his power. โ€œNow be a good girl and sit.โ€

I gagged and leaned my face on my hand. โ€œNo, thank you.โ€ His brows furrowed as I spun in a circle. โ€œI think Iโ€™d rather stand.โ€ I turned back to Charles. โ€œNow that I have withstood everyoneโ€™s command here, can we just get back to class? We are here to learn math, are we not?โ€

โ€œI said sit.โ€ Calebโ€™s power pushed harder on my body, but it was still so weak.

I turned to face him and growled. โ€œI said no.โ€ I watched as everyone else in the room slowly sank into their chairs, his command becoming too strong for anyone else in the room to withstand.

โ€œI think thatโ€™s enough,โ€ Gamma Charles called out, but Caleb, well, his ego was hurt. โ€œCaleb, stop,โ€ he called out as the unranked wolves hit the ground, laying flat. His command was starting to hurt the less powerful wolves, and there were a few whimpers. But still he pushed his power.

If you donโ€™t step in, he will hurt them, Nix called out.

โ€œCaleb, please.โ€ All the gammas had hit the ground.

โ€œEnough.โ€ I slammed my power out, dropping Caleb to the ground.
