Listen to this chapter:

Management criticized Hana for escalating the incident, resulting in a disastrous career decline and the termination of her endorsement contracts. Gwenda was pleased with the outcome.

“Putting on airs and being unprofessional won’t get you anywhere in the entertainment industry,” she declared. “Look at top-tier artists and actors—they succeeded through capability and self-discipline.”

“Indeed, you’re right,” Hattie agreed fervently. “Should that be our studio’s motto? No airs, no bullying of newcomers.”

“Excellent idea. Let’s incorporate that into our studio policy,” Gwenda said, smiling and raising an eyebrow.

“I’ll design it, print it, and put it up,” Hattie offered.

“Great. I’ll leave it to you,” Gwenda replied.

After speaking with Hattie, Gwenda confirmed a new date and time for the commercial shoot. Later that afternoon, a knock came on her office door. It was Eloise.

“What can I do for you?” Gwenda asked, gesturing for Eloise to sit.

Eloise sat, handing Gwenda a document. “I’ve compiled contact information for several artists. See if anyone’s suitable; I’ll sign them.”

“That was quick!” Gwenda exclaimed, surprised by Eloise’s speed.

The document listed various singers and actors. After a quick scan, Gwenda asked, “You can sign them all?”

“Yes. I know them all; they’d readily join,” Eloise said confidently.

Gwenda nodded, satisfied. “Then it’s up to you. We’re ready to expand our roster.”

“You’re not picking anyone specifically?” Eloise asked, raising an eyebrow.

Gwenda shook her head. “Your choices are naturally the best.”

“In that case, I’ll proceed.”

“Yes,” Gwenda replied, trusting Eloise completely.

They talked for a while before Eloise left. Gwenda returned to her work.

Meanwhile, at Morel Group, Gretchen found Martin after shopping with friends. She recounted her day, but Martin didn't respond. Puzzled, Gretchen saw him staring at his computer screen—at the recent online incident involving Hana Finch and Cecilia Kelly.

“Martin, why are you reading this?” Gretchen asked.

Martin seemed not to hear. Gretchen frowned and shook his arm. “Martin…”

“Hmm?” He looked up.

Gretchen pouted. “I asked you a question! Why are you so distracted?”

“It’s nothing,” Martin said, pinching the bridge of his nose. Internally, he was turbulent. He’d initially feared Gwenda was in deep trouble, but she'd resolved the situation swiftly and efficiently. He was shocked and impressed by her decisiveness, even a little confused—he'd never noticed this quality before.

He spaced out again. “Martin,” Gretchen said unhappily, “Why are you so distracted lately? And you were reading about Cecilia Kelly… are you missing my sister?”

Stunned, Martin denied it hastily. “No, don’t be ridiculous.”

“Am I being ridiculous? You’re being very obvious,” Gretchen retorted.
