When Gwenda reached the living room, she ran into Wendy.

"Gwenda, you're awake," Wendy said.

Seeing Wendy, Gwenda felt a rush of complicated emotions. She said sternly, "Wendy, don't joke around like that again." Wendy, understanding the reference, chuckled and tried to act cute. "Gwenda, don't be mad! It was a one-time thing. I won't do it again!"

Gwenda grumbled, "You can play around all you want, but how could you lock the door? Honestly"

"Lock the door? What do you mean?" Wendy asked, confused. When had she locked the door?

"Didn't you lock the door?" Gwenda retorted.

Wendy rolled her eyes, instantly understanding. Her cousin Olivier was a schemer. To win his future wife's affection, he’d stoop to framing her. That was unforgivable!

"Haha, Gwenda, I promise I won't do it again. Please calm down and have a seat. I'll make you some tea." Wendy used this as an opportunity to escape, deciding to take the blame for now. She would confront Olivier later and get even.

At sunset, the sky blazed with a lovely shade of red. After Olivier got up, Wendy immediately intercepted him.

"My dear cousin, Olivier, I didn't expect you to be so shameless! You lied to Gwenda, saying I locked the door! You've really thrown me under the bus!"

Having been exposed, Olivier showed no embarrassment. Instead, he confidently asked, "Didn't you?"

Wendy's eyes widened. "What impudence! What insolence!" How could she have such an impertinent cousin?

"Brat, don't meddle in adult affairs," Olivier said, pushing her aside and heading to the kitchen bar.

"But you made me take the blame!" she protested. "I was wronged!"

"I heard you want to attend a foreign summer camp during the summer holidays, but your mother didn't agree," Olivier said, raising an eyebrow after pouring himself a glass of water.

Wendy, unsure of his motives, nodded. "Yeah, so?"

"I can make it happen."

"Really?" Wendy's eyes lit up. Then, she paused. "Are you trying to bribe me into silence? Relax, I didn't tell Gwenda. She won't suspect you."

"Shut your mouth!" Olivier snapped, putting down his glass and walking away.

Watching his silhouette, Wendy snorted. "Still waters run deep, indeed!"

As darkness fell, the resort housekeeper reappeared. He had arranged a backyard buffet, but they opted for the restaurant instead. The restaurant was in the resort's center, so their car arrived early. A few minutes later, the four of them arrived at the restaurant entrance.

"Madam, Mr. Petit, this is the restaurant. After dinner, there's a spa event. I'll wait for you at the door," the housekeeper explained before departing.

Meanwhile, Gretchen and Martin arrived similarly.

"Let's go inside, Martin," Gretchen said, taking his hand and entering. They had spent the day together, rekindling their romance. Gretchen, in a good mood, walked with a lighter step. However, upon entering, she saw a familiar face. Gwenda. Why was she here? The smile vanished from Gretchen's face, replaced by a frown. ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
