Listen to this chapter:

How could she forget that the troublesome Olivier Petit was still living in her house? The moment Gwenda recalled last night's events, she wilted. But she still had to go home. She couldn't avoid it forever, could she? "You can't avoid what's coming anyway," Gwenda thought with a quiet sigh. Having no other choice, she flagged down a taxi and headed home.

Meanwhile, back at Gwenda's apartment, Otto was reporting Gwenda's whereabouts to Olivier. "Miss Evans is on her way back," he said.

Olivier, lying on a balcony chair with his eyes closed, cracked them open slightly. "Got it. You may go."

"Yes, sir," Otto replied, leaving the apartment after completing his mission. He reached the ground floor via the lift and saw Martin Morel walking past. Morel evidently didn't recognize him from their last meeting. Watching Morel enter the lift, Otto immediately called Olivier. "Boss, Miss Evans' ex-fiancé is here. He's on the lift now"

Just then, Otto spotted Gwenda. He quickly hid in the stairwell, adding, "Miss Evans is also back. They might run into each other at the door."

"Got it," Olivier replied calmly before hanging up.

Otto put away his phone and glanced at Gwenda. Seeing her in the lift, he slipped away after a moment's thought. "Whatever happens next, let the boss handle it. I'd better get out of here before I'm dragged into this!"

Martin exited the lift and went straight to Gwenda's apartment door, keying in the password. A series of beeps announced, "Wrong passcode!"

"Wrong? How is this possible?" Martin thought, frowning as he keyed in the code again. It was still wrong.

Exiting the lift, Gwenda saw Martin fiddling with the lock. "What the hell are you doing?" she shouted angrily.

The sudden noise startled Martin. Turning, he saw Gwenda. His face fell. "You changed the passcode?"

Gwenda sneered, stepping forward. "If I recall correctly, we have nothing to do with each other. This is my home. What's it to you if I change the passcode?"

A hint of discomfort flickered across Martin's face; he hadn't expected her to be so resolute. Before he could respond, Gwenda coldly asked, "Why are you here?"

"Gwenda, I'd like to discuss our engagement and my relationship with Gretchen."

"I have nothing to say to you. Get out of my way."

Gwenda flatly refused him, heading for the door to key in the code. Martin stopped her. "Gwenda, it's not Gretchen's fault. I fell in love with her, not the other way around. Blame me, not her."

"Are you done? If so, you can leave."

Gwenda's stare was icy, her voice venomous. Seeing Martin's self-serving attitude, she felt only disgust. How could she have been so blind? She'd let a scumbag like him ruin her life!

Martin was again shocked by her aggression. The woman before him was unlike the one he knew. If she didn't look the same, he would have doubted it was Gwenda Evans.

"Gwenda, I know you hate me, but don't blame Gretchen. She's innocent"

"If sleeping with your fiancée's sister is innocent, then tell me what is guilty in your book?"
