Listen to this chapter:

Olivier sharpened his gaze. "Otto, bring me the surveillance video."

"Yes, sir," Otto replied, leaving to retrieve it.

Snow trembled with fear. She hadn't expected a security camera.

Larry, mistaking her fear for anger, hurried to comfort her. "Don't worry, once the video's here, I'll make her apologize."

"Apologize?" Gwenda mused. "I don't think I'll be the one apologizing."

Snow's face was deathly pale. She remained silent.

Soon, Otto returned with the video. Olivier didn't watch it, instead handing it to Larry.

Larry, believing he could reprimand Gwenda, reviewed the footage. His face darkened; he stared at Snow in disbelief. "You"

Terrified, Snow cried, but tried to defend herself. "Uncle, even if I struck first, she went too far. Look at my wound—it hurts so badly!"

Larry ignored her. The evidence was undeniable. He no longer believed her. He regretted his aggressive earlier behavior, realizing he'd miscalculated and now faced the consequences. He had aimed for a victory and instead suffered a defeat.

This realization fueled his bitter frustration as he glared at Snow. The situation was awkward.

Olivier suddenly laughed, a chilling sound. His icy gaze settled on Snow. "Miss Green, perhaps you're unaware of my temper. One does not simply touch what is mine."

"Mr. Petit" Snow was terrified by his intensity.

Larry, equally afraid, began, "Mr. Petit, this—" but was interrupted.

"You should be grateful Gwenda wasn't injured. Otherwise, you wouldn't be standing here."

Olivier's already frosty demeanor had turned frigid, the air thick with menace. Snow's face turned white as a sheet. She hid behind Larry, trembling.

Larry forced a smile, pleading for his niece. "Mr. Petit, my niece acted impulsively and offended Miss Evans. I apologize. Since Miss Evans is unharmed, and my niece has learned her lesson, could we let bygones be bygones? I'll bring her to apologize properly. Please be merciful."

"What do you think, Gwenda?" Olivier ignored Larry, turning to Gwenda with surprising gentleness.

Gwenda, taken aback by his tone, was momentarily speechless.

Larry, fearing Gwenda wouldn't let the matter drop, pleaded, "Miss Evans"

Gwenda, regaining her composure, regarded the Greens with cold eyes. She thought nonchalantly, "I suffered no losses. No need to make things difficult."

"Let's go," she said impassively to Olivier, who nodded and left with her in his arms.

The moment they were gone, Snow burst into tears.

Larry, enraged by her reaction, glared at her. "You still dare cry? You've disgraced me! I've never seen such behavior! You've ruined a perfectly good banquet! When we get home, your father will ground you for a month!"
