Chapter 166: First Patient
Daoist Xian finally understood why Ye Mo cut off his legs first. If his legs had been fine, the fireball wouldn't have affected him.
โYou donโt need to know who I am. I said you shouldnโt have taken my things. Since you did, donโt blame me.โ Another fireball erupted from Ye Moโs hand.
โYou can create fireballs from air?โ Daoist Xian, momentarily forgetting pain and fear, continued to guess how Ye Mo had created the fireball. Now, he was sure. Ye Mo could indeed create fireballs from air. He had witnessed something from legend. Ironically, he had wanted to fight someone like this.
Seeing Ye Mo's fireball approaching, Daoist Xian quickly said, โWait! Donโt you want your Silver Heart Grass?โ
Ye Mo never intended to kill Daoist Xian. He knew that without something to inspire fear, Daoist Xian wouldn't surrender.
Now that Daoist Xian mentioned it, Ye Mo thought for a moment before saying, โI do care about the Silver Heart Grass. And where did you see the Space Abyssal Rock?โ
Daoist Xian quickly replied, โAs long as you let me go, I will tell you.โ
โNo need. You donโt have the right to bargain with me.โ Ye Mo walked in front of Daoist Xian and patted his head.
Ye Mo thought that with Daoist Xian subjugated, controlling his mind should be easy.
But as soon as Ye Mo finished patting him, Daoist Xian hummed and died.
Ye Mo hadnโt expected Daoist Xian to be so resolute, shattering his own aorta rather than giving Ye Mo a chance to question him.
Luckily, Ye Mo had obtained some information first. Otherwise, he would have wasted time waiting for Daoist Xian. He didnโt care about Daoist Xianโs life, only what he could get from him.
He found a card and a small plate on Daoist Xian. He didnโt know what they were made of, but ancient characters read โBlack Capital.โ
Ye Mo raised his hand, burned Daoist Xian with a fireball, and left.
Yu Miaodan had grown accustomed to the peaceful life at Ye Moโs place. Despite Ye Mo telling her that Metal River was gone from Luo Cang, she didnโt want to leave and focused on learning medicine with Lu Xiaozhen and Yu Erhu.
Of course, Ye Mo wouldnโt tell her to leave if she didnโt want to. Plus, an extra person meant an extra helper.
Outside Ye Moโs mansion was 4 acres of barren land. Ye Mo wanted to buy it to plant herbs and expand his mansion.
Although his location was near the rural area, it wasnโt cheap. Ye Mo didnโt have much money. He only had 200,000 in hand and another 200,000 from Lu Xiaozhenโless than 400,000 total.
The land might cost millions, and he might need connections to buy it. His main source of income was the online clinic, but it had no registered users yet. The reason was simple: few people knew about it, and the registration price was too high.
Ye Mo gave the money to Yu Erhu to buy large quantities of precious medicinal herbs. Although he couldnโt concoct pills yet, he could still make soups and medicinal teas.
A week later, Luo Cang was quiet, and Metal River seemed to have vanished. No one cared.
Ye Mo had also made several types of medicinal pills and soups. With no news from the online clinic, Ye Mo decided to go to Hong Kong first. He didnโt feel safe leaving his Silver Heart Grass there; it would be better in his own mansion.
And, when he returned from Hong Kong, he would need to go to Flowing Snake. After all, he had promised Fang Nan. Delaying it wouldn't be good, especially since it was his fault Fang Nan was in that state.
Just as he finished his arrangements and was about to leave Luo Cang, Lu Xiaozhen rushed in. โMaster, someone registered on our websiteโtwo people. Theyโve applied for the waiting list.โ
Ye Mo felt joy. He was short on money and considering selling defense talismans when this happened. Each registration was 10,000, and applying for the waiting list was 100,000. Those who registered were definitely wealthy; they could afford to be cheated.
โWhat are the conditions?โ Ye Mo asked.
Lu Xiaozhen dejectedly said, โOne is a person in a vegetative state for two years in Hong Kong, and they said they would pay extra if you went to Hong Kong. The other is in America. They also want you to go there. The condition is complete bone softness.โ
Normally, Ye Mo would have refused. Running to Hong Kong to treat someone in a vegetative state; he didnโt want that kind of hard-earned money, but now it was convenient. He was going to Hong Kong anyway.
โOkay, get the Hong Kong patientโs address. Put them on the waiting list. As for the American one, reject them, but donโt refund the registration fee,โ Ye Mo said.
Lu Xiaozhen hesitated. โMaster, this is a vegetative stateโฆโ
Ye Mo smiled. โDonโt worry. Help me arrange travel to Hong Kong, the faster the better, even if we pay extra.โ
Vegetative states usually werenโt serious. He might not even need to go himself. A charm might be enough. It would only be troublesome if it wasnโt a normal vegetative state.
Lu Xiaozhen admired Ye Mo so much she almost worshipped him. Since Ye Mo said it was fine, she believed it would be. She immediately accepted the Hong Kong patient and rejected the American one, telling them to come to Hong Kong for treatment.
Lu Xiaozhen was very efficient. She completed in three days what would normally take two weeks. Ye Mo would be traveling to Hong Kong with a tourism company.
Hong Kong, Qing Quan Bay.
The scenery was beautiful, but the area near the mountain was private property. Outsiders could only view it from afar.
The most magnificent building wasnโt the mansion on the mountainside, but the temple behind it. The mansion and temple were both extremely grand. Four large men stood at the templeโs door.
Inside the temple were four people, one of whom lay unconscious on a bed. The man looked to be in his 50s, with a gaunt, unhealthy yellow complexion. Besides him were a middle-aged man with a serious expression, a woman under 30 who would have been beautiful without her frowning expression and heavy eyes, and a subordinate standing behind the middle-aged man.
It was strange that the patient was in the temple, which was even more extravagant than the mansion.
โLuo Chen, what did the website that claims to cure any disease say?โ the middle-aged man asked.
โBoss, the website accepted us onto the waiting list, and Iโve paid the 100,000 fee,โ Luo Chen replied.
โDid they ask anything else?โ the middle-aged man pressed.
โNo, boss. They just took the 100,000 and said theyโd send someone over. Thatโs all,โ Luo Chen said.
โOhโฆโ The man showed extreme disappointment. He thought the website was a fraud. They took the money without asking about the patientโs condition or history. If this wasn't fraud, what was it? 100,000 was nothing, but another hope was lost.
โHoweverโฆโ Luo Chen hesitated. โOur American application was rejected. They said the doctor wouldnโt go to America; weโd have to go to them for treatment.โ
โInteresting.โ The middle-aged manโs attention sharpened. The websiteโs refusal to go to America suggested it might not be fraudulent.
The woman added, โWhen are they coming to Hong Kong?โ
โThey didnโt say exactly, but they said theyโd definitely be in Hong Kong within ten days,โ Luo Chen replied.
The middle-aged man nodded. โLuo Chen, this area has been unstable recently. Bring some people and make arrangements. Donโt let the mainland doctors be attacked.โ
โYes, boss,โ Luo Chen replied and left the temple.
