Chapter 168: Cruel Means

Translator: Tim Editor: Chrissy

He casually spread chi around his face to avoid being captured by cameras. Ye Mo didn't want to be on the wanted list in Hong Kong, as he came to kill today. Da Tang's gangsters could get away with murder or have it judged as an accident, but he couldn't.

The inside of Earth Heart Entertainment was boisterous. Ye Mo scanned the messy interior; everything was in disarray.

As soon as Ye Mo reached the door, someone stopped him. โ€œBrother, Iโ€™ve never seen you before. Are you new here?โ€

At that moment, a youth with curly hair walked out and, upon seeing Ye Mo, pointed and shouted, โ€œItโ€™s him! He knocked out two of Brother Feiโ€™s teeth on South Street.โ€ The curly-haired youth immediately recognized Ye Mo.

โ€œGo!โ€ At the youthโ€™s call, seven or eight men charged forward.

Ye Mo sneered and didn't hold back. These ordinary gangsters couldn't withstand his attacks. Soon, they were all on the ground. Ye Mo hadn't started killing yet; he needed to confirm things before beginning the slaughter.

โ€œFriend, you came here intending to cause trouble? Iโ€™m the manager, Cui Heng.โ€ A man who looked like a manager walked out. He looked at the seven or eight thugs on the ground, frowned, and spoke.

Ye Mo kicked a man struggling to rise. Then, he looked coldly at the manager and said, โ€œI have two questions. First, did you kill Uncle Pei from the noodle shop?โ€

โ€œHmph, do you think youโ€™re invincible just because you can fight? So what if we killed him?โ€ The manager saw Ye Mo casually beat down seven or eight gangsters and wanted to know his background. Ye Moโ€™s arrogance, however, immediately provoked him.

No one dared to be so arrogant on Da Tangโ€™s territory. Ye Mo was the first. If he didn't quell Ye Mo's arrogance, Da Tang wouldn't be able to stay here.

Cui Heng waved his hand. โ€œFriend, your arrogance won't last long. From the beginning, no one has dared to act so cocky in our territory, not even those from Metal River, let alone you. Iโ€™ll show you the price of your arrogance.โ€

Ye Mo sneered, pleased. These people knew about Metal River; he'd come to the right place. He casually pulled out the whip Daoist Xian had used. He was loath to waste time fighting these weaklings hand-to-hand. He actually missed his metal nails; he could have dispatched these gangsters with one nail each.

Seeing Ye Mo produce a whip, Cui Hengโ€™s contempt grew. He shouted, โ€œAttack him together! Beat him to death! Donโ€™t hold back!โ€

At Cui Hengโ€™s order, eleven gangsters charged, some wielding hack swords.

Ye Mo channeled spirit chi into the whip and swung. This swing contained 70% of his cultivated chi. The long whip howled as it struck the first few attackers.

Ye Mo's whip technique wasn't as refined as Daoist Xian's, but he didn't need technique against these thugs. He only needed to imbue the whip with his chi.

Daoist Xian's swing wouldn't have produced such a howling sound, but in Ye Mo's hands, the whip shattered the air. The whip sliced like a long sickle. Eleven attacked, and the whip struck the first six. None of those hit survived; one was nearly cut in two.

Before the remaining five could react, Ye Mo swung again. Two whips. After the second, Ye Mo retracted the whip. A few breaths later, the remaining men fell dead.

Eleven men, two whips.

Cui Heng stood alone, jaw agape, staring at the carnage. Was this human? Killing eleven men with two whips? Some were torn open. Was he using a whip or a long sword?

โ€œDoes your Da Tang have more? Call them all, save me the time.โ€ Ye Mo sneered at the dumbfounded Cui Heng.

Cui Heng stammered, pale-faced, โ€œNoneโ€ฆ noneโ€ฆโ€

But what truly shattered his soul followed. The youth casually threw several fireballs. The blood-soaked floor was now ash. Even the hack swords were burnt to a crisp.

โ€œGod?โ€ Cui Heng tried to control his thoughts but couldn't.

Ye Mo used his spirit sense and found only customers remained; no more Da Tang members.

โ€œNow, Iโ€™ll ask questions. Answer incorrectly, and youโ€™ll turn to dust,โ€ Ye Mo stared at the still-dazed Cui Heng.

Cui Heng trembled, finally recovering. He wiped his sweating brow and said shakily, โ€œSir, please askโ€ฆ please ask.โ€

The scene was still shocking him. He couldn't control his shaking legs. If not for the vanished bodies, the burning smell, and the melted swords, he would have thought it a dream.

โ€œDid I kill Uncle Peiโ€™s killer?โ€ Ye Mo scanned Cui Heng and asked coldly.

โ€œYes. Itโ€™sโ€ฆโ€ Cui Heng was interrupted.

โ€œWhere is Da Tangโ€™s HQ? Take me there, or you wonโ€™t speak again,โ€ Ye Moโ€™s voice grew colder. He knew a mercenary like Cui Heng would recover and require stronger measures.

As expected, Cui Heng said without hesitation, โ€œMetal Riverโ€™s boss, Metal Mountain, is negotiating with our leader tonight, ceding some regions to Da Tangโ€ฆโ€ His tone became steadier.

โ€œMetal River is usually adamant. I donโ€™t know why theyโ€™d suggest this. Brother Yue fears Metal Mountain is using tricks, so he brought all Da Tangโ€™s elites to the negotiation.โ€ Cui Heng stopped shaking; he seemed to have recovered from the shock but still looked at Ye Mo with fear.

โ€œIโ€™m going now. Lead the way, quickly!โ€ Ye Mo yelled.

โ€œYes.โ€ Cui Heng dared not refuse. Ye Mo suspected Metal Mountain's negotiation was because he killed Daoist Xian. A Metal River without Daoist Xian was a toothless tiger. Metal Mountain was acting quickly.

If Da Tang learned of Daoist Xianโ€™s death and attacked, Metal River would lose more.

Da Tang and Metal River chose West Sandโ€™s territory for their discussion. West Sand was Hong Kongโ€™s largest gang besides Da Tang and Metal River. Both parties agreed to meet there.

After nearly forty minutes, Cui Heng drove a Mercedes to West Sandโ€™s territory. Both parties chose a large private manor. When Cui Heng arrived, dozens of luxury limousines were already parked outside. Cui Heng was stopped at the door.

Ye Moโ€™s spirit sense detected around two hundred people, both visible and hidden. They seemed poised for conflict at the slightest disagreement.

โ€œIโ€™m Cui Heng from Da Tang. I need to see my leader,โ€ Cui Heng quickly told the guard.

The guardโ€™s face remained unchanged. โ€œThereโ€™s an important meeting. No oneโ€™s allowed in or out. Leave immediately, otherwiseโ€ฆโ€

The guard stopped because Ye Mo had already killed him with a wind blade.

โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€ Cui Heng could only utter one word, not daring to look at Ye Mo as he drove in. He understood Ye Moโ€™s cruelty.

The men who were about to stop Cui Heng saw him speak with the guard and still enter, so they didn't stop him. They hadnโ€™t seen the guard fall and thought the car was allowed entry. After Cui Heng stopped, no one approached.

Cui Heng parked and led Ye Mo to the manor door. Two men came to stop them. Ye Mo knocked them out, this time without killing. He then knocked out Cui Heng. He shouldnโ€™t kill him yet. He needed to confirm Metal Riverโ€™s presence before killing Cui Heng. He no longer needed Cui Heng to guide him and headed straight for the meeting room.

โ€œStop,โ€ two large men in black clothing raised their guns.

Had they not pointed guns, Ye Mo might have knocked them out. He hated guns pointed at him. He threw two fireballs before kicking the meeting room door.
