Chapter 528: Luo Yue Under Attack

Translator: Timothy Editor: GlobeGlotter

Ye Mo was sure that if he fought Wang Lenchan again, he could crush him with a single wind blade. His wind blade was still insufficient for great heaven masters like Ren Pingchuan, however.

Looking back at the spirit well, Ye Mo left it untouched. Perhaps in a few years, he could obtain more spirit stones. He had far more confidence in his cultivation now. If he had found spirit stones once, he might find them again.

When the Blue Flower Blue Leaf Grass fully matured, he could concoct chi-increasing pills, even without spirit stones, and reach the tertiary stage of chi gathering. Ye Mo was certain that, while still no match for great heavens, reaching the tertiary stage would allow him to slaughter them.

Ye Mo cleaned himself and left the stone hole, leaving the small fox there; it hadn't damaged the spirit well, only drinking water and lacking the ability to cultivate.

After blocking the tunnel, Ye Mo felt a pang of hunger. He didn't know how long he'd been in the cave; his phone was long dead. Desperate for news of Luo Yue City, he forwent eating, mounted his flying sword, and flew there.

โ€ฆ

At that moment, in a newly built crescent-moon-shaped building, Xu Yuehua, Ning Qingxue, Xu Ping, Ye Xing, Zang Jiayan, and Li Sandao sat around a round table, their expressions grave. Something had happened in Luo Yue City. Even Zang Jiayan, responsible for Flowing Snake, had come.

Luo Yue was under attack. Many Luo Yue masters excelled in individual combat, but lacked experience in warfare, prompting Zang Jiayan's arrival.

โ€œWeโ€™ve lost three of our ten ships. If this continues, weโ€™ll lose them all,โ€ Li Sandao said worriedly.

Ye Xing raised an eyebrow. โ€œIf I had another year, or even half a year, my new warship designs would crush those pirates.โ€

Li Sandao frowned. โ€œThatโ€™s irrelevant now. Weโ€™re too close to the Yading pirates, and none of us are skilled in maritime warfare. Weโ€™re outmatched and can only wait for the City Lordโ€™s return.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m curious why these pirates only target our port and warships, not the land. What benefit does that provide?โ€ Ning Qingxue, though wanting Ye Moโ€™s return, knew he was pursuing a breakthrough. His success would bring him back.

Xu Ping immediately said, โ€œSister-in-law, you misunderstand. These pirates dominate the sea but are timid on land. Even without my intervention, Sandao alone could annihilate them.โ€

Xu Yuehua shook her head. โ€œSecond Brother Xu, you didnโ€™t answer Ning Qingxue. Pirates act only for their benefit. Destroying our ports and ships offers no advantage. Theyโ€™d gain benefits only by attacking the land, yet they haven't. Youโ€™re partly right, but another possibility exists: an agreement to halt city construction. Or, theyโ€™re awaiting reinforcements, attacking the land only upon their arrival.โ€

โ€œThen what do we do, Sister Yuehua?โ€ Luo Fei asked.

Xu Yuehua sighed. โ€œWe can only hope Guo Qi and company can hold them off and wait for the City Lord. We canโ€™t stop the attack otherwise. We lacked time. With a year or two, Ye Xing could design a Luo Yue thatโ€™s impenetrable. Besides, are they truly just pirates? I doubt it.โ€

Guo Qi and Fang Wei stood on a shipโ€™s deck, observing the pirate ships through their telescopes. They lacked sea battle experience, despite their special forces background; their expertise lay in forest warfare.

โ€œBrother Guo, when do you think theyโ€™ll attack next?โ€ Fang Wei asked, his eyes red.

Guo Qi shook his head gravely. โ€œI donโ€™t know, but they havenโ€™t used their full strength. Their ships are superior. Where did they acquire such vessels? Somali pirates use jet skis and rocket launchers. These pirates possess far more potent weaponry; a nation likely supports them. Unskilled in sea battles, we can only wait for Brother Ye.โ€

โ€œThey havenโ€™t used their full power?โ€ Fang Wei cried, surprised.

Guo Qi nodded. โ€œYes, if they attacked with full force, we wouldnโ€™t have lasted this long. We lack a naval commander and battleships, submarines, and aircraft. Without air support, sea battles are impossible. Luckily, the pirates lack aircraft, or weโ€™d be fleeing.โ€

โ€œCaptain, radar detects another attack!โ€ A soldier reported urgently. Most marines were Li Sandaoโ€™s men, his maritime expertise exceeding Flowing Snakeโ€™s.

โ€œCannons ready!โ€ Guo Qiโ€™s face was grim. He wasnโ€™t afraid of war, but he disliked this feeling of being suppressed.

โ€ฆ.

After Ye Mo reached stage 5, he soared on his flying sword, appearing above Luo Yue twenty minutes later. The scene enraged him: a fleet charging fearlessly toward Luo Yue, possessing clearly superior ships.

Weakness invited defeat. He'd been gone only a few days, yet people dared to act so boldly. Regardless of the commander, he knew his side was outmatched.

The black fleetโ€™s flagship measured roughly 100 meters in length. Though unfamiliar with naval warfare, Ye Mo guessed it to be the command ship, charging toward it immediately.

Simultaneously, within the shipโ€™s command center, a short-haired man stared intently at the radar, frowning.

โ€œWhatโ€™s happening, David?โ€ an officer asked.

โ€œGeneral Louis, I detected a target on radar, but it vanished. Iโ€™m sure I saw it. This is unsettling,โ€ David replied.

Ye Mo had landed outside the command center, considering invisibility to avoid radar detection.

โ€œDavid, have women addled your brain? This battle is simple; once Commander Shawn arrives, weโ€™ll attack the land. Luo Yue has many beautiful women; you can enjoy them then, haha!โ€ Louisโ€™ joke failed to reassure David, who remained focused on the radar.

Ye Mo bypassed many marines, entering the command center. He appeared, saying, โ€œNo need to attack the land. Youโ€™re Louis? Why do you look like a pig?โ€

Ye Moโ€™s sudden appearance caused chaos. Louis, though fat, reacted swiftly, yelling, โ€œKill him!โ€

Two marines drew their guns, but before they could raise them, Ye Moโ€™s wind blade sliced them down. Louis stared at the bloodied bodies, speechless and shocked.
