Before the black rays reached Ye Mo, he waved his hand, and sparks flickered. The black rays turned to dust immediately. Before Yan Wuliang could react, Ye Mo formed a grabbing motion in midair; his chi formed a claw, clenching Yan Wuliang’s throat and dragging him to a distant corner.
Yan Wuliang was scared sh*tless. The bearded man clearly hadn’t grabbed him, but he felt an invisible hand grab him by the neck. Was this the legendary qi materialization? Yan Wuliang’s heart plummeted thinking about it. Ye Mo dumped him onto a metal board.
“Who are you?” Yan Wuliang was no longer cocky. He asked subconsciously, realizing how shaky his tone was. He had killed countless people, but now, facing death, he was terrified.
Ye Mo sneered, “Weren’t you going to kill me? Now I’m here, so why ask who I am? A mere yellow level dares be so cocky!”
“Qianbei, I was blind! Please have mercy; I’ll do whatever you want!” Yan Wuliang said, not daring to look up. This bearded man could sense his power level and materialize his qi—he had to be absurdly strong.
Ye Mo produced a chair and sat, then took out the spirit stone. “Why did you want this?”
“Wanbei should die. If I knew Qianbei wanted it, wanbei—”
“Don’t talk garbage! I asked why you wanted it!” Ye Mo yelled. He felt strange. When he first tossed Yan Wuliang away, he was terrified, but now he seemed less scared.
Yan Wuliang replied, “This is a qi stone; it has an important use. When ancient martial artists are about to break through, they can shatter it and eat it to break through quickly without side effects.”
Hearing this, Ye Mo was disappointed. He thought Yan Wuliang had fought over it because he knew what it was. But the guy didn’t even know how to use it properly! Were spirit stones for eating?

Yan Wuliang nodded. “Yes, my master got one, and he used it to reach the earth level.”
“Where did your master get it?” Ye Mo asked.
Yan Wuliang shook his head. “I don’t know, but I can tell you where my master died. Please have mercy.”
Ye Mo sneered. “Mercy? Easy for you to say. I got nothing after being threatened, and now you want forgiveness?”
“Qianbei, you didn’t get anything, but I’ll give you all my Gu bugs. I just got a mind control bug too—”
Before he finished, Ye Mo stopped him. “I’m not interested in your bugs. That’s far from enough to save your life.”
Unexpectedly, Yan Wuliang laughed. “Qianbei, Wanbei’s Wan Gu Sect has a cultivation method. I can secretly become a ghoul if I die. You may not believe this, but I swear it’s true. Qianbei can kill me, but after I die and become a ghoul, I can bite back—”
Ye Mo sneered. “Is that your bargaining chip? That’s far from enough to threaten me. I met Ren Sha in Hong Kong; he kept Gu and threatened me. I burned his soul. Now, someone else threatens me. Your life ends here; I’ll annihilate your soul too.”
Hearing this, Yan Wuliang’s face changed drastically. “Qianbei, you killed Martial Brother Ren?”
Yan Wuliang knew Ren Sha—the Wan Gu Sect’s genius. Ren Sha, though his martial brother, was much stronger. Yet, a genius like him died to this big beard, his soul annihilated. Yan Wuliang realized he might be done for.
“Don’t kill me, Qianbei! Have mercy. My master had other treasures; if you let me go, I’ll tell you everything,” Yan Wuliang uttered worriedly.
Ye Mo couldn’t be bothered. He took out a lighter and set Yan Wuliang ablaze. Yan Wuliang burned, and the Gu bugs flew out, but none escaped. As he’d said, his soul didn’t die immediately; it looked at the fire in terror.
Ye Mo sneered and turned Yan Wuliang’s soul to dust with another fireball. Before it died, it still didn’t believe how the big beard could see it.
However, Ye Mo noticed something unburned. He picked it up—a palm-sized metal card with simple drawings. Even metal should melt under his fireball, but this card remained cool. Ye Mo couldn’t tell what it was made of, so he put it away for later research.
The seawind blew away the dust as if nothing happened. That short, black man who’d been watching, though uncultivated, was quick on his feet. Ye Mo didn’t go after him immediately; he had more important things to do. He was going to find the camera guy and get the Five Element Rock.
Shen Qianqian had showered and changed. Though she still wore a veil, she felt different. If not for Yan Wuliang, she would be overjoyed. But because of that terrifying man, she waited anxiously for Ye Mo. She thought, ‘If Ye Mo got killed, what would the Shen family do?’ But then, ‘Since he came from Jin City so quickly, he’s definitely powerful.’
Seeing Ye Mo approach, she finally relaxed.
“Brother Ye, thank you. When we reach Qi Zhou Island, I can take you around. Let me treat you to a drink.” Shen Qianqian didn’t mention Yan Wuliang, her tone relaxed. This was her first time asking a guy out.
